1st Annual Dawg Sports Sacrificial Goat Roast T Shirt Design Contest
Ok here's the T Shirt Design Criteria:
In order to keep the t-shirt costs to a minimum, the design should be planned for a red or black t-shirt with a minimum of colors. (The more colors are printed, the more expensive the t-shirts are.)
Only two items must be included:
- The title of the event: "The First Annual Dawg Sports Sacrificial Goat Roast"
- Blog URL: www.dawgsports.com
Designs should be included for the front & back of the t-shirt.
Of the official UGA logos, only the official "G" logo and/or the arch may be used to avoid copyright violation issues.
If the artist wants to use the official Dawg Sports logo, please resize the logo from the website and use it as a placeholder. If the winning design includes the blog logo it will be provided to the artist upon winning for incorporation into the design. This is to keep the logo from getting out into the interwebs.
Multiple entries from the same artist are permitted.
In order to get the voting completed & t-shirts in time for the event, here's the deadlines:
- Entries must be posted to this comment thread no later than August 31, 2010.
- Voting will take place from September 1 to September 5.
If I have missed something that you think should be included in the criteria, speak up and quickly, time's a wasting!
Good luck everyone!

I forgot what you get if you win!
You get the admiration & appreciation and maybe even the love of the Dawg Sports community, and absolutely nothing else :) But ya gotta admit – admiration & appreciation is a pretty cool prize :)

Had to dust off the ol’ Paint skills to try to do a cartoon T Kyle.
It's a good thing we're Georgia fans instead of Auburn fans, . . .
. . . or that would be one nervous goat! (There are, after all, fates worse than death.)
Always remember never to read Dr. Seuss’s Green Eggs and Ham to an Auburn fan, because you don’t want to hear his answer to the question, “Would you, could you, with a goat?”

I love this one.
I mean, really… Wisdom, Justice, Moderation… and Goats? And with a vampire Kyle holding a mini-sword?
Pure gold.

I didn't see it as a vampire version of me.
I think those are patches of skin between the edges of the moustache and the “soul patch” portion of the beard, rather than fangs.
For the record, though, if I am a vampire, I’m not one of those androgynous vampires who sparkle in the sunlight.
I agree with you, though. Nicely done, indeed. Two strong entries so far.

Alright...
So the whole Arch with the roasting goat thing didn’t work out so well. It was hand drawn so I’m not sure how it would’ve transferred and it was way too busy to work in only 2-3 colors.
So I went with a less is more approach:
(h/t Kyle for creating/inspiring the paraphrased quote on the back and Dave for presumably inspiring Kyle)
"I want anything wearing red and black to tear the head off anything that isn't."
- Lewis Grizzard
This
is inspired.
Now, for those of you who are attending, be careful not to “celebrate excessively.” Penn Wagers just might pop in and throw a flag.
