I believe it is not so much a curse upon us, but rather the loss of the blessing. While Kyle makes a great point about the arrival of David Hale jinxing us, I believe David may not be the root of our problems. We lost a great blessing less than two weeks before David Hale joined us and that my friends, was the root of our problems. From 1999 through June 2008, the Bulldog Nation enjoyed great success. 5 straight national titles in women's gymnastics, the longest active winning streak among the BCS schools (end of the 2007 season), two SEC championships in football, two sugar bowl victories and during this same period, an overall .763 winning percentage in football. This was the tenure of our much beloved UGA VI. It was not a jinx brought upon us by the arrival of David Hale, but the loss of Uga V's Whatchagot Loran that cause sorrow to befall us. One can only hope that the installation of our newest mascot will restore blessings to the Bulldog nation. Sadly, it won't come soon enough as the new mascot may not be named before homecoming.
