Conference Expansion Kaput; SB Nation Atlanta Rollout Party Still On!
All right, that's a week of my life I'm never going to get back. We were all geared up for radical realignment, and what we got was the Colorado Buffaloes joining the Pac-10, the Nebraska Cornhuskers joining the Big Ten, and the Boise St. Broncos joining the Mountain West. That's it? That's all? Do you know how much time I spent on Twitter, for crying out loud?
Now I know how it must have felt to have been alive during the Cuban Missile Crisis, gotten all psyched up for global thermonuclear war, and received the disappointing news that humanity had decided not to blow itself up, after all. (O.K., bad example.) Now that the University of Texas has announced on its website that the Longhorns will continue competing in the Big 12 and Texas A&M fans have expressed their disgust, we can put all this back in the category of things about which we do not care and move on to things that actually matter.
Looking ahead to the fall, podunkdawg is rendering yeoman's service in organizing the plans for Dawg Sports readers to meet in Athens on October 2 to watch the Georgia-Colorado game together. You don't have to wait that long to interact face-to-face with folks you know from the blogosphere, though, because the upcoming debut of SB Nation's Atlanta regional site will be celebrated with a get-together at TacoMac at 5600 Roswell Road in Sandy Springs from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 24.
I am scheduled to attend, and, if you're interested in being there, as well, you may R.S.V.P. here.
Go 'Dawgs!

Great line

A tip of the hat to you.
Sandy Springs??!!!
Why in the hell would the rollout party for SBNation’s Atlanta site be held anywhere but Atlanta? Come on, guys, there’s a Taco Mac practically right across the street from me!
It's technically ITP, if barely.

Yeah, well, it’s not a bad location, actually. And if I end up going, it’ll be reasonably convenient to my commute home from where I work out in the country (Marietta). Hyper-consciousness of Atlanta’s borders is part of my schtick. And at least it’s not in Duluth (although that would be close to the landmark town of Suwanee Flowery Branch).
Awwww
You’re so sweet to me! I actually kind of enjoy party planning :)
