Georgia Finishes Second in SEC All-Sports Trophy
How down a year was it for the SEC if the Bulldogs could have the lousy years they had in football, baseball, men's basketball, and women's gymnastics yet still come in second in the conference? (Hat tip: Team Speed Kills.)

SEC not "down"
The SEC All-Sports Trophy is awarded to the program with the best intra-conference results during the year. This isn’t a comparison of the SEC to other conferences and programs across the nation. Traditionally, the award has been two-horse race between Georgia and Florida, so no real surprises in the 2nd place finish.
I understand, but that means Georgia had the second-best intra-conference results . . .
. . . across all sports in 2009-’10, yet we were mediocre at best in four of our biggest sports, three of which are typically successful.
Look at it this way: our baseball, basketball, football, and gymnastics teams sucked last year. How much worse was the rest of the conference if they couldn’t overtake us in a year like that?

All relative
Granted, your baseball and basketball teams were pretty bad, but while football and gymnastics results certainly weren’t up to your expectations – they didn’t exactly suck.
I can’t find a breakdown of the standings anywhere – has anyone seen it posted? I only see the final standings.
