Taking this time to reflect on the past

I always use the offseason to look back on my fondest memories of being a Bulldog fan.  It's is kind of corny, but I think its the best time.  During the season, we are obviously completely focused on the current team.  I'm 24, so the glory days for me are Mark Richt's arrival and our immediate success.  It was truly mindblowing to have that and I'll never forget it.  The older crowd will no doubt have even better stories, and I would love to hear them.  But for now, I thought I'd openly reminisce, and I've love to hear some other memories from the early Mark Richt era.

Georgia Vs. Auburn Home Game

I found this video and loved the commentary by the great Munson.  I don't remember this series, but it looks like it's an early noon game.  Fred Gibson with a great catch on the first play was great to see.  Gibson was always a favorite of mine.  Then we see good ol' Billy Bennett booting it through the uprights.  Coutu was great, but Bennett is the man!

Greene to Johnson

Wow, that looks so long ago.  Another Auburn game and another win over them.  I strictly remember this because I had two friends who were at the game in the endzone.  I'll apologize for having Auburn friends now.  The clip is also given the Munson treatment, with lines "The crowd roars at us." and "Man, we've had some shots haven't we?".  Finally, we have the "Auburn Killer" Michael Johnson.  Are you kidding me?  This guy dominated the rivalry for two years.  They say Lindsay Scott never has to buy a beer in the state of Georgia, and I'd also like to think Michael Johnson is the same.

We were ranked #7 going into #24 Auburn on a big time, night game matchup.  Yall might remember we later went on to win the SEC and defeat #16 Florida State that year in the Sugar Bowl with a 13-1 record.  Yeah, I could go for one of those years.

Run Lindsay

Oh come on.  I wasn't born yet and this gives me chills.  Every Dawg fan has to love this play.  Mentioning Lindsay Scott above made me want to watch it again.  We know 1980 was dominated by Herschel, but this was it.  I truly don't think there is a bigger, more exciting play in Bulldog history, but I'd love to hear any debate.
