Georgia Quarterback Battle May Have Just Gotten a Little Easier
Dang.
The only good news appears to be that his alleged fake driver's license wasn't expired.

well, at least we know he’ll lose the rest of that baby fat with all the extra running he’s gonna do

This should spur Mett in the right direction
Looks like Murray has the job locked up, but I hope that this incident is a wake up call for Mett. Murray makes a big deal about acting like he’s the starter all the time. Mett should learn to do likewise – he may win a starting job out of it.
I'd prefer it if Grantham or Searles takes care of the discipline.

That was meant for Bravely going forward....
But the point is the point.

now i’m really confused. i guess i missed an inside reference or joke somewhere, but all i was trying to say was that mett might end up benefitting from this down the road, as many others have since pointed out. i wasn’t trying to be literal when i said he’d be running, i was just trying to be funny i guess.

Sorry for not getting back sooner....
I just made the comment and then kind of abandoned the post. I was just pointing out that given the recurring incidents, maybe we should let the new scary DC or the scary OL coach handle consequences for awhile.
I further exacerbated the confusion by accidentally posting my reply under the wrong comment and then confused the situation further still by trying to explain that.

Maybe Richt will pull a Meyer
And just suspend him for the spring game.
Leaving insightful football commentary and analysis to other people since 2006.
Surely you jest
I don’t think Meyer would suspend anybody for a whole game. First half, maybe.

Or the first quarter of a meaningless non-conference game....
Or was that Spurrier? I can’t keep these Gators straight.

Mett really screwed up, and now it's Murray's to lose. At least I dont have to worry about a QB rotation for the first games now.
CMR can forgive and forget, but not until the time is done. And Mett either mans up and works harder than ever, or he lets this get to him and wasnt worth it to begin with.
now, back to the Czar of Discipline debate…………

didn't we hire you
for that position?

That picture has to be from the '80's.
1. Suzanne Yoculan’s hair
2. Those seats are the old, uncomfortable, when-does-spring-practice-start-aw-hell-let’s-just-go-get-a-beer wooden seats from the coliseum.
But the most important proof that this picture is probably 2 decades old:
3. You can see empty seats in the Coliseum during a Gym Dogs’ meet.
It also reminds you . . .
. . . that, back in the day, Suzanne was a pretty sharp-looking lady.

She's a bit out of my age bracket....
But I’d say Suzanne is still a pretty sharp-looking lady.

No doubt . . .
. . . but I’m 41. I haven’t yet made the transition from MILF to GILF.

So so so so so hard
to think of oneself as ever qualifying as a MILF, and yet once you are in fact a Mom, well, yeah. So sad. Now you have to go and through GILF at me? Hard to know if this is a goal I should be striving at or something to be avoided all together.

"The Czar of Discipline debate"?
You can’t have a debate if everyone is on the same side. Who doesn’t think tankertoad’s idea is a good idea? For crying out loud, let one of the graduate assistants who helped coach the defense in the bowl game do that job.
Short of ransacking players’ personal effects in search of fake IDs, though, I don’t know what anyone in Butts-Mehre Heritage Hall could have done to have prevented this one. Making sure parking tickets are paid and licenses are up to date, though? That ought to be not only doable, but easy.

there is still room for the position even with this issue
because part of the point of the disciplinarian (sp) would be fair, consistent and impartial punishment. So, the “Czar” would be able to establish some guidelines that reach out across the department. This person could keep accurate records and establish precedent (that’s some lawyer word I saw on Law and Order). This person could look closely, given more time at what other schools do and make sure to stay within the expectations of the NCAA. Obviously this would still involve input from the Head Coaches, but the Czar would at least have a vote to ensure consistency and continuity. Furthermore, the Czar would be able to establish relationships with the ACCPD, which could tremendously help. ANd yes, have a grad student to do the admin. )
For the person out there that doesn’t like the “czar” title, it’s just a place holder we all understand, no need to revist that.
"One thing I will never do as long as I’m at Georgia is lose to Florida." - Herschel Walker
I think Mark Richt is pretty consistent with his discipline . . .
. . . but I’m all for the czar. I don’t even mind the title. I just want the czar to have a large portrait of a glowering and bloody Erk Russell on the wall behind his (or, in deference to Suzanne Yoculan, her) desk.
Seriously, with the limitations on coaches you can hire in any one program and the need for consistency department-wide, this position would have to be an associate athletic director rather than an assistant coach. Why couldn’t it be Suzanne Yoculan? Her athletes never got into trouble, never transferred out of the program, always graduated, and always represented the University well, both on and off the floor. It isn’t just because they were gymnasts; they spent time with other Georgia athletes (Katie Heenan married a Diamond Dog pitcher) and they had as many opportunities as anyone else to misbehave, they just behaved themselves responsibly.

Valdosta?
I could see gettin’ in trouble in Daytona, south Beach, Myrtle Beach…heck, even Jeykll Island. But Valdosta? He should get a 1/2 game suspension just on principal.
"If we score, we may win. If they never score, we'll never lose."
-Erk Russell
I'm going to just decide
he was on his WAY to dayton, south beach etc and stopped for a couple drinks in valdosta (regardless of the way the map looks), then had a few too many and well we see the result.
"Never refuse to do a kindness unless the act would work great injury to yourself, and never refuse to take a drink- under any circumstances." Mark Twain
I like that explanation better
My understanding—-and I can’t confirm that this is accurate—-is that he went there with a friend who was from Valdosta.
Also an acceptable explanation: Zach was taking a younger sibling to Wild Adventures.
