Georgia Bulldogs at LSU Tigers Game Day Open Comment Thread
Georgia Bulldogs at LSU Tigers, Mar 6, 2010 5:00 PM EST
The Georgia Bulldogs are on the road in Baton Rouge to take on a Louisiana State squad that has struggled even more than the inaugural edition of Mark Fox's Hoop Dogs. This is Georgia's last and best chance at a true road win this season and the contest could impact seeding for the SEC tournament.
If you couldn't make it out to the Pelican State for the game, by all means, jump in and join the fun in the comments below.

SCAR wins.
Now I definitely want us to whip LSU to keep the 5 seed. I’d love a chance for our guys to get redemption against the Opelika All-stars.

I see McPhee has brought his passing game from Wednesday night back fo an encore.
At least he’s consistent.

We won't beat anyone in the SEC tournament playing like this.

Yeah...
We’d have the same number of SEC wins as the Gamecocks but more SEC East wins which is the tiebreaker.

Thanks, I was pulling for the Gamecocks against Vandy
and then wondered if that was a strategic error.
I have to say we match up well with LSU...
This isn’t a good thing.

Well that was ugly
But I guess if it is a tie it is like the first half never happened. Too bad the SEC tourney isn’t in Athens.
I know I'm hard on Ricky McPhee....
But when you’re a 6 foot, white college basketball player you need to be able to do 2 things:
1) Shoot from behind the arc.
2) Protect and distribute the ball.
1 out of 2 just isn’t cutting it.

I think we are currently E6
Because as of this moment SCAR has one more win since we are still playing.
If we win we are tied. We tied them in the season series and have more division wins so we own the tiebreaker.
Plus they work for Sportssouth so they are definitely the cream of the crop — so I could be wrong.
Of course, if we keep playing like this it won’t matter.

Just checked Kyle's link above
At this point I think we are just playing to say we won ONE conference game on the road.
I was miscalculating their number of division wins
My bad.
I will, sadly, not be asked to join the Sportssouth broadcast team.

On the plus side...
I’ll be able to watch the game since it will be at 9:45 instead of 1 in the afternoon.

And if we beat Arky we'd get to play...
Vandy (who we beat once and took to OT) instead of Kentucky.

Wow, this is pathetic, by far the worst game we have played in 2010
I don’t know if the guys have simply run out of gas or what, but they are a 10+ point better team than this scrub squad they are playing. This is pathetic and is giving me flashbacks to the last 5 years.
My guess is
The coaches built them up on You can beat KY at home and when they collapsed their confidence took a hit. They have seemed tentative all game.
Maybe they can get them up for the tourney.

We will find a way to lose this
I’m guessing we foul them on a 3 with a few seconds left

The manager with 4 kids one year away from finishing med school
who dropped out to come do this must have a SAINT for a wife.
How do you put an extra half guy on Trey...
Maybe I have a chance with Sportssouth after all.

Well hopefully we'll look better Thursday.
Nothing in reviewing film of this game should encourage anyone to leave early for the NBA.
You look for the silver lining almost as much as I do.
Nice to have a kindred spirit.
I’m sure TT will be on shortly to bring us both down… Although I do appreciate his pessimistic ying to my overly optimistic yang.

Sorry, RedCrake, I am too busy trying to understand the "Coach Fox for Coach of the Year" arguments
And everyone knows I love him – but lets call a spade a spade.
- We cant win back to back
- We cant win on the road
- We have blown, in almost every game, a lead, sometimes a HUGE lead
And, that game was absolutely pathetic
"One thing I will never do as long as I’m at Georgia is lose to Florida." - Herschel Walker
There's the TT we all know and love.
Also I’d point out that at least in the Fox era we usually have a lead at some point in the game.

How many more conference wins than last year?
Winning at home step one.
Winning on road, step two.
We are moving forward, that’s what counts.
Yes, baby steps are better than none at all.
When asked what aspects of Heyward’s game need improvement, one scout simply replied, "Nothing."
Baby steps out of the office...
Baby steps down the hallway… Baby steps onto the elevator.
Hopefully next season won’t involve death therapy.
