Knowshon Moreno & Herschel Walker to team up for Tag-Team Title
Apparently being a star running back for the Classic City Canines will guarantee you a future in Mixed Martial Arts. Knowshon Moreno was in Athens this weekend, when he was accused of striking a random drunk 18year old downtown. It's only a matter of time before the Chippewas Hurdler and the Goal line stalker team up, and go after the Tag Team tittle in the WWE.

By the way I'm starting dislike the new fan post system.

reading the article, we have a mixture of apples and oranges
1) it is clear this young man was KO’d. the fact he was drinking underage is a seperate piece. the commenters really wanted to go after the “18 at a crap bar drunk” side, which is a seperate piece to being assualted. In the world of rape, that is called blaming the victom.
2) KM was at the bar. Which is kind of sad.
3) the rest is speculation
"One thing I will never do as long as I’m at Georgia is lose to Florida." - Herschel Walker
1) I agree, it appears that there was some sort of brawl between the two since it appears Moreno was quoted in the article.
2-) I know he’s been spotted several times around Athens during the off season, one of my friends bumped into him a couple of weekends ago.
You know, he does have a year of eligibility left
If he likes Athens so much, we’ll be glad to take him back.
That said, Knowshon should know better than to get into this kind of silliness with an 18-year-old kid and even a freshman ought to know better than to get into it with Knowshon Rockwell Moreno.
I don’t know who did what, and I’ve learned never to rely on the initial report, which is always incomplete. However, no one comes out of this situation looking good.

What's the problem with the fanposts, DawgShark?
Our technical team is always working to improve the system and make it more user-friendly. Sometimes that includes changes that require a period of adjustment, and sometimes unanticipated “bugs” get into the system.
Let me know what the difficulty is, and I’ll send a bug report to technical support.

I really just don’t care for what I perceive to be a push for sharing my posts via Facebook or Twitter. I was in a rush this afternoon when I was typing up the post, and the new layout threw me for a loop. I don’t believe anything can really be done unless its on the entire SBnation level.
I understand
You’re right, there’s probably nothing that can be done about that, since it’s part and parcel of the system. I’m sorry it caused you aggravation this afternoon, though.

It's not a bug...
… it’s a “feature.” Natch.

What the hell was Knowshon doing at Bourbon Street?
If he isn’t 18 years old or in a sorority, he has absolutely no business being anywhere near that bar.
This never would have happened at The Velvet Elvis.

Before my time
Although it sounds like my kind of place.

May have been after...
Although I don’t know when you were there.
I frequented the place circa 2000. It was two doors down from The Grill. Went under and was replaced by a frat bar. Just sad.

These conversations always make me feel old
I still think of The Globe as “that bar where the Athens Yacht Club used to be.”
I miss Murphy’s. They ruined that place when they tried to turn it from a dive into a respectable downtown bar. The whole appeal of Murphy’s was that it was a dive.
Also, they had a bartender at the City Bar who was an artist. Alcohol was his medium; he worked in it the way another man worked in oil or clay.

You kids
The Yacht Club is that bar where Abbott’s used to be (and Bissett’s is where Banker’s used to be). To be fair, John Berry’s Yacht Club opened ’long about my sophomore or junior year.
Ok, NCT...
… if you’re going to tell me next that you pre-date the Mayflower Restaurant, I’m going to start calling you, “Old Man.”
But then again, I think the Mayflower was there when Robert Toombs and Alexander Stephens were matriculating in the Classic City. I know for a fact that it was there when my father went to UGA (much more recently).

Student Recants
Looks like the student and police decided not to press charges.

Interesting how the accuser "recanted his story."
I wonder how many semesters of beer money tuition beer money it took to get him to change his mind.
