One and Done!
So Mack Brown and Texas are taking a different approach than CMR and UGA. One bad year horrible year pathetic year and 3 assistants are gone. It will be interesting to see if and when this move pays off. Of course, UGA was on a slow, invisible to the untrained eye, degression into obscurity. Texas managed to skip the whole $200 thing on their way there.

In many ways, Greg Davis was the Longhorns' Mike Bobo.
Texas fans were constantly critical of his offenses.
I was sorry to hear about Mac McWhorter, one of the many members of the “first family” of University of Georgia athletics to have matriculated in Athens. Coach McWhorter graduated in 1974 from the university whose athletic dormitory is named for his family, coached at Duluth, Douglas County, and Villa Rica High Schools, and served as offensive line coach, special teams coordinator, and director of football operations under Ray Goff from 1991 to 1995. Although Coach McWhorter spent many years coaching at Georgia Tech, he’s still a damn good ’Dawg.

Is McWhorter still the athletic dorm? I know it was back in the day, as I hung out with friends there a lot in 2003-04, but that was torn down a few years ago. I know there’s now a building in the ECV named McWhorter, but didn’t know if it had retained the previous incarnation’s jock presence, as it’s now one of many fairly identical buildings.

Unfortunately, stupid NCAA rules prohibit schools from having designated . . .
. . . athletic dorms any longer, so McWhorter Hall’s former status as such has been abandoned, but I still think of it as what it was built to be before the meddling nannies in Indianapolis got their panties in a bunch over the whole thing.
