Since the last National Championship Game for Auburn was 1957 (and I was born in 1965) it is fair to say that this is a once in a life-time opportunity. Without Cam Newton (or Nick Saban as our coach) it is hard to imagine this ever happening again.
An attorney and Auburn fan requests that a trial be scheduled so as not to conflict with the national championship game. (Hat tip: Scott Key.)
This is, of course, a perfectly reasonable request, but could the guy have done a little research before filing his request? "[T]he last National Championship Game for Auburn was 1957"? Really? There wasn't a game with the "national championship game" designation in 1957, and, if there had been, Auburn wouldn't have been in it, because the Plainsmen were on probation and were banned from postseason play.
At least he's realistic about the prospects for a repeat, though.

You and your facts
(And properly spelled no less)… You know that isn’t how the plainsmen roll.
