Apologies in advance if the image is difficult to view - but I had some problems pasting a spreadsheet in.
So as I was trying to say last night (before the editor wouldn't work and I had to fly out to sunny Orlando Florida for a meeting tomorrow).....
Against the better advice of our fearless leader, I went ahead and built a spreadsheet to look at the possible Bowl Selections for the various SEC teams. If & when an SEC team is invited to the MNC, there are 10 opportunities for SEC teams to go bowling, assuming there are 10 bowl-eligible SEC teams. Since this year everyone except Ole Miss & Vandy are bowl eligible, we have 10 games and 10 teams - works out kinda nicely don't you think?
Should Auburn lose the SECCG, South Carolina will go to the Sugar, Auburn to the Capital One and everyone will drop a game leaving Kentucky left standing when the music stops and no bowl game for them.
In the spreadsheet below (pasted as an image), I'm giving you my predictions on two separate base's - first based only on the BCS ranking of the 5 teams in the top 25, and then based purely on conference standing. Finally, for comparison, I give you the current projections from CBS Sports.
Interestingly, CBS Sports has LSU & Alabama flipped versus the BCS Rank & Conference Standings. I have no idea why considering 1) LSU is higher ranked, 2) LSU has the better overall record 3) LSU has the better in conference record and 4) LSU won the head-to-head match up.
So, here are the predictions - as Kyle says weekly - Don't Bet On It!
