Saluting America's Veterans.
Today is Veteran's Day (née Armistice Day), and on this occasion, I would like to take a moment and specifically thank every former member of our armed forces for their service and their sacrifice. We have quite a few regulars at DawgSports that are former servicemen and women, but of course even that is only a small fraction of the community of veterans at large.
So, to all veterans, I salute you, we all salute you, and I wish there was something more meaningful I could do at this juncture than just saying, "thank you."
Well, you know what? There is at least some small token I can offer...
Male veterans, this is for you:
Female veterans, this is for you:
And to all:

Nice.
My Veterans Day tribute has been scheduled to appear at 11:00, for the obvious reason.
Go 'Dawgs!
If I may add something on a more personal note.....
Not only is today Veteran’s Day, but it would be the 83rd birthday of the dearest sweetest man I ever knew – my beloved grandfather. As many of you know, he passed away on September 4th, just over 60 days ago.
He was also a WWII Vet, coming of age very late in the war and staying til peace was declared. He met my grandmother when he returned from the Army, she was with his brother & sister to pick him up at the train station. They married soon after. For almost 63 years (their anniversary was a few days ago), they made their home together, raised their children and cared for dozens more – foster children, younger relatives, & grandkids.
He loved ballgames more than anything, that may actually be the true source of my love for the game. But even more than that, he was my Daddy, and he loved me, and I loved him dearly.
I can bake like a demon.
