It's no secret that the Dawgs have been dismal in the running game and that the passing game has been mediocre to non-existent without AJ Green. Let me ask a question here--could we be overlooking the obvious?
If you'll recall, in previous seasons, the RB coach was a very capable Tony Ball. He came from a successful VT program and also had a measure of success as a RB himself. Bryan McClendon was initially a Graduate Assistant at UGA. When Coach Eason moved into the Football Operations in 2009. Strangely, however, Ball, who was a success as a RB coach was moved to coach WR's and McClendon makes the jump to RB's.
Maybe, just maybe, should Coach Ball be moved back to coaching RB's? It doesn't seem like it's an accident that the normally outstanding pass blocking RB's just forgot how to pick up blitzes help out in pass protection.
Overall, I think everyone should be moved into a position that best suits their talents. Conversely, some may need to be (re)moved, if it is proven that they are ineffective in their current roles.
Dawg Nation--what do you think? Am I off base here?
