PrintNow that the season is over, I was thinking about what could have been. Losing players is a reality of the game and with Jones taking off for the NFL and Curran possibly joining him, who did we miss this past season. Sure there could be arguments for Sturdivant or Battle, but just looking at the guys who left early, who would have helped us the most?
Stafford would have been an upgrade of Cox.
Even though we finally got the running game going, there's no question Moreno would have help and take pressure off Cox.
Allen would have helped out with a woeful defense.

Stafford and AJ would have owned the world
Even if Stafford didnt complete one more pass than Cox, his decisions and velocity would have cut out more than half the INTs. Cox had almost 2 ints a game (especially if you take Tenn Tech out of the mix). THe turnover margin would have been hugely different – making the whole season very different. ANd hey – Bobo would have more success on his 1st and 10 bomb play anyhow!
King and Ealey were no Moreno – but they did their part well enough. And no one DB would have made the difference on our D.
