I'm willing to let your vapid self-aggrandizement and self-denial go up to a certain point, mostly because it's pointless to expect anything better of you. But when you suggested in your USC press conference that the students were rioting because you must have done some things right here in Knoxville, for some reason I can't let that one slide.
This is the latest bit of cognitive dissonance from the Volunteer faithful. Aren't these the same folks who told us a year ago that, if everyone was talking about Lane Kiffin, then he must be doing something right? Why, then, is it unfair for Coach Kiffin to claim now that the rioting in Knoxville was evidence of his prowess at Tennessee? Big Orange fans are talking out of the other side of their mouths now that the shoe is on the other foot, and, after the way they've behaved for the last fourteen months, I'm loving every minute of it. Let the Kiffinfreude continue!

They will get behind anyone. I swear if I was hired and said “We are going to win a NC this year!” they would print up T shirts with my picture on it and already declare victory. I was really excited about CMR when we hired him (and almost lost him thanks to VD), but I don’t remember running out and buying TShirts, decorative plates, and wall calendars with his image on them.
