The Mark Richt Victory Watch
On a soggy night in Sanford Stadium, the Georgia Bulldogs watched an early lead evaporate on a pair of turnovers, but the Red and Black battled back to tie the Arizona St. Sun Devils. In the closing minutes, the 'Dawgs blocked a field goal attempt by the visitors and drove the length of the field to split the uprights on a game-winning Blair Walsh three-pointer as time expired to claim a 20-17 triumph between the hedges.
The win, which was both exciting and more exciting than it should have been, gave the Georgia head coach his 85th career victory, placing Mark Richt 116 wins behind Vince Dooley on the all-time school list. After 108 games on the job, Mark Richt sports a ledger of 85-23 (.787), which outpaces the records of Wally Butts and Vince Dooley at the same juncture. Coach Butts was 79-26-3 (.745) and Coach Dooley was 71-32-5 (.681) after as many games.
Go 'Dawgs!

This team is giving me ulcers.
Seriously…I find I’m drinking more during these nail biters and eating more hot, spicy food (Hey, it’s my coping mechanism. What’s yours?)
A.J. Green is incredible. He should touch the ball on every play. Even defensive ones, too. They had a safety coming over the top and he still found open space. He blocked a field goal. He’s amazing and to think we’ve got him for at least another season makes me smile.
The defense really stepped up in the 2nd half. Bacardi Rambo needs to play more. I’m still worried our corners can’t cover man-to-man, though.
Blair Walsh is money. I wonder if he’ll kick a huge winner a few weeks from now?
My head hurts.
I still have no idea what this team is about. Maybe turnovers are just part of our modus operandi.
Directional kickoffs: More fun than a bag of snakes.
Dang, Dave . . .
. . . after that summary, I may not need to write a postgame report. Nice job.
By “for at least another season,” I think we both know that what you really mean is “for another season.” Still, that’s the price you pay for recruiting at this level.
Go 'Dawgs!
What's the story on Marlon.....
Are we looking to red-shirt Marlon? I certainly hope Marlon is paying attention & taking full advantage of practicing with the “BEST Receiver” in college football. I watched some of the ‘Bama game yesterday-Julio catches the ball well but as far as an overall Receiver/Athlete he is not even close to AJ! I mean did y’all see the block AJ put on #9 (LB/S) for ASU-AJ does his job every down & every play! He is truly the DAWGS’ savior!!!
Marlon's already been in for a few snaps this season
So no, he won’t be redshirted. It has to be that he’s not grasping the offense/not as far along as the coaches feel he should be for gametime. He is just a true freshman, now. I know many were expecting him to step in like AJ (or Julio Jones) did last year and make plays, but that’s wholly unprecedented.
