Colonel Benjamin Taliaferro, for whom Talliaferro County is named after.
Too damn hard..
and I’ve actually read a lot of Faulkner. Great idea, though. My god, who could possibly do well at this?
Then again, it’s been years since i’ve read faulkner, I don’t follow Georgia football like a Georgia fan, and I’ve never really known who signed the DoI

The important thing is
I got all the Dawgs right. I got most of the signers right (well the ones I knew) and you would think that would mean I could get the Faulkner characters right, but of course, I didn’t know all the signers so there were some errors. I don’t know Jack about Faulkner except that he is from Mississippi and I was supposed to read his work in high school. Come on, most of you didn’t do it either.
Faulkner
There’s a significant gap in my education and experience with Faulkner’s name on it. If I had a do-over, I’d have majored in English or history instead of political science (except I wouldn’t trade my time with St. Augustine, Voltaire, Nietzsche, Mill, Locke, Rousseau, Erasmus, Hobbes, etc.). This gap is significant to me, given my strong belief that the best literature in the English language since the Revolutionary War is disproportionately (by far) from the Southern U.S. I grew up on Poe; “The Marshes of Glynn” was written under a tree on my ancestors’ property; the ending of Lancelot was one of the most memorable novel-reading experiences I’ve ever had (you with me, Pittman?); I could not have lived in Columbus, GA, without letting McCullers torture me from time to time; I hope never again to be disturbed by a piece of fiction as much as I was reading Alice Walker’s Possessing the Secret of Joy (but I’m glad I did it once). How I’ve missed Faulkner is a bit of a mystery.
Don't look at me
