Recruiting Nugget
Story from the AJC of Urban Meyer offering one of UGA's recruits. Kid is a sophomore DE.
But I don't really care about that, I was just watching his highlight video, which is also on that page, and wow. This kid looks darn good. It's in 4A football I believe.
I'm not the kind of guy that watches a lot of recruiting videos other than QB/RB, so I'm not sure if a soph is supposed to look this good on tape or not. But after the first minute I was very impressed.
CMR needs to get on it!

You’ll be pleased to know that Coach Richt offered Vaughters last month. He is one of several sophomores our coaching staff is already recruiting, including Valdosta tight end Jay Rome, North Gwinnett’s C.J. Uzomah, and Callaway defensive end LaMichael Fanning. Georgia has done well at Tucker High in the past, though Vaughters currently has offers from a who’s who of southern football (Alabama and Clemson for example offered even before the instate Bulldogs).
One of the tough things about recruiting sophomores of course is that they aren’t finished growing. While Vaughters is listed as a 6’3, 220 lb. linebacker, he may ultimately grow into a defensive end. LaMichael Fanning on the other hand is already in the 6’6 275 lb. range, and if he keeps growing will turn into an ent. Rome is the son of former Clemson standout Stan Rome, who actually was drafted by the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers and played in the NFL for the Kansas City Chiefs. And that is about as much recruiting coverage as I ever thought I would be doing for the class of 2011.

good info
thanks
I will completely skip over the question of whether or not coaches should be recruiting sophomores or not.
Just gonna completely skip over it.
No point in talking about that.
Seriously, they shouldn’t be.
