Georgia-Mississippi State Game Day Open Comment Thread
Listen, I’m not any happier about having to do this than you are, but we’ve ignored this long enough, you and I, and the first step towards solving the problem is admitting it exists.
Tipoff of the Georgia men’s basketball team’s first (let us be positive here) conference tournament game in Tampa is expected around 3:15 this afternoon, so consider this your game day open comment thread. If you don’t want to comment about the game, at least feel free to ask what the heck the tournament is doing in Tampa, a location which is convenient to exactly one of the league’s twelve member institutions.
Let’s end this season with another magical run, or put it out of its misery and get on with hiring a new coach. Either way works, really.
Go ‘Dawgs!

Nothing?
Wow. Guess I’ll get this kicked off as the game is almost over. Actually, I don’t even care. Is it football season yet?

LOL
Seems like a fitting end to this particular season. An open-gameday thread with no posts until the game is almost over. And then the first poster says, “so what?”
(And then the second poster mocks his own team and their trevails.)
Good point, Kyle
Hosting the SEC Tournament in Tampa makes about as much sense as hosting the ACC Tournament in Atlanta. (Or, for that matter, anywhere outside of the state of North Carolina.)
It could be worse
Our S.E.C. blog hosted two tournament open threads. One got three comments, the other got one. So much for the S.E.C. becoming a basketball conference.
All right, so it’s over, and now we can hire a basketball coach who will make us an N.C.A.A. bubble team every three or four years, and we can get back to counting down to G-Day and hoping the athletic department starts pumping more money into baseball. Life is good.
Go 'Dawgs!
Honestly...
I saw this thread, and I thought, “I didn’t know we were in conference play for baseball already.”
Speaking of Conference play
I’m excited about visiting my buddy in Oxford in April. The Diamond Dawgs will be in town to play Ole Miss. I only know what’s going on with Georgia and it’s competitors via my usual UGA blogs. How does Ole Miss look this year? Am I in for an exciting weekend of baseball? Or should I only see one of the games and spend the rest of my time strolling campus, realizing I’m on the verge of being THAT guy
