Friday Night Dawg Bites: "If a Tree Falls on Top of a Drunk . . ." Edition
For those of you who (quite reasonably) were expecting to see a game report at Dawg Sports this evening, I am afraid that the Gym Dogs’ weekend meet with Florida begins at 4:00 on Saturday afternoon, while the Diamond Dogs’ series-opening game against Arizona is being played in Tucson and remains in progress. A full report on the latter, and probably also the former, will follow tomorrow.
For now, though, please note the following:
- The top-ranked Georgia men’s golf team is in third place following the first round of the Puerto Rico Shootout.
- The second-ranked Georgia men’s tennis team shut out Georgia Tech for the Bulldogs 23rd straight win over their in-state rivals.
- I had occasion to be in the Classic City today---the weather was lousy, but a bad day in Athens is better than a good day anywhere else---and I noticed that the tree in front of the main library which was made famous when a drunk tried to climb it at Bloggerpalooza ‘07 no longer stands. I can’t speak for Doug Gillett, but I, for one, think an historical marker should be placed on the spot.
Go ‘Dawgs!

I started chuckling to myself because of a story about a friend of mine who did something similar before G-Day. Clicked on the link, and what do I know other than that I’m standing in the damned picture! Cracked me up. Thanks.
And jeez was he drunk.
