Dear Coach Richt,
Please read the article below and view the attached video.

Then walk down the street and offer that young man a scholarship as a returner.
Seriously, if you have not seen the video of this kid, Torrin Lawrence, blowing the doors off of his Gator rival on the last leg of the 4x400 relay after being saddled with being 10 meters behind him at the handoff, watch it and drool. Maybe Florida's anchor man just ran out of gas, but still...dang.
I'm sure he wouldn't fit into our offense as well as the Harvin/Rainey/Demps creature does into the Gators', but couldn't we at least give him a shot on special teams?

Impressive
But you probably want to look at guys that run the 100, not the 400. the football field isn’t quite that long.
Also, I think our guys should cut off those dreads…they’re obviously weighing them down!!
The 4x400 is still relevant . . .
. . . because (unless my track and field knowledge is even worse than I think it is, which I concede is entirely possible) each guy is still only running 100 yards.
I am reminded, though, of the episode of “Sports Night” in which Dan Rydell, reporting on the drafting of an offensive lineman into the N.F.L., quoted the kid’s 40-yard dash time, then noted: “Of course, any play that has an offensive lineman running 40 yards downfield is probably ill-conceived.”

Sports Night was awesome!!!
And that quote completely sums up why I scoff at any GM who pays attention to stuff like that at the combine.
I quote Dan Rydell regularly
My favorite line was the one he uttered to Rebecca when she asked whether a “perfect game” was good:
“I know there’s a lot of jargon, but some of these terms are self-explanatory.”
I disagree with his politics, but, since Steven Bochco’s writing team from “Hill Street Blues” (including their subsequent projects like “Twin Peaks” and “N.Y.P.D. Blue”), there has been no better television writer than Aaron Sorkin.
Go 'Dawgs!
I am also no expert on T&F events...
…but from the video, it appeared each leg was 400 meters (yards?).
A 4×100 race would have been over in a flash.
Ah . . .
. . . and now we see why I add parenthetical disclaimers when contributing ill-informed comments while on my lunch break.
Mea culpa. Much obliged.
