You probably noticed this already, but it just so happens that it’s Super Bowl Sunday here in America, which means it’s time for all of us in Bulldog Nation to make a choice.
I, like MaconDawg, allow my college football loyalties to dictate my professional football loyalties. Back in the day, I always rooted for the New York Giants to beat the Dallas Cowboys, because, from my point of view, anytime Rodney Hampton’s team went up against Emmitt Smith’s team, it was just a transplanted edition of the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party. The year the Atlanta Falcons did their best impersonation of the 1969 New York Mets, I was the only person at the Super Bowl party I attended rooting for the Denver Broncos, because they had Terrell Davis.
How, then, are we to root this evening? The Pittsburgh Steelers have Hines Ward on their roster, whereas the Arizona Cardinals list Leonard Pope among their players. What’s a ‘Dawg fan to do? Is the Charley Trippi factor a legitimate tiebreaker for the Cardinals, or do we go with a Pittsburgh club that has shown a particular affinity for drafting Georgia players?
You tell me, Bulldog Nation. Your thoughts on the overhyped exercise we all only watch for the commercials game are welcome in the comments below.
Go ‘Dawgs!
