UGA does NOT need to hire Kirby Smart.

Strong information has it that there is at least one embarassing, at best, matter in the Bama DC's past that hopefully will not surface wherever he is, although it is a indirect incident not of his own making.  UGA does not need to be the place of his employment if and when the matter surfaces.  Hopefully, it will not since he was definitely an innocent bystander, but the spillover on him would be not be good.  Let sleeping Dogs lie__and best wishes to Kirby in Tuscaloosa.

Let me guess...

… during his playing days in Athens, he was caught exiting from an alley while sipping from an open container of IBC root beer?

’Cause that kind of thing will get you thrown in the lock-up in Athens.

I almost spit out a mouthful of tea over that one….

I have no "link" since not all information comes from the internet.

I will tell T. Kyle in person or by land line phone. He can decide whether it would be bad stuff if (1) true and (2) known to the public. Other than that, no further comment.

In situations like these,

I would venture to say that if you are not planning on disclosing the information, it’s better to say nothing at all. If you are going to publicly state that a man does not need to be hired by the University of Georgia, you should also publicly state the reasons why. Otherwise, it should be left alone. Let sleeping dogs lie, indeed. While you may not have roused said dog (or dawg), you’re certainly inviting a large number of people to poke him.

I apologize if my comment came off preachy...

that is certainly not how I meant it. I, like you, want the best for my alma mater. Personally, after reading your post, I would very much like to know what you’re talking about simply out of curiosity. As I’m sure that I’m not the only one in that boat, if you aren’t prepared to disclose it, it probably shouldn’t be mentioned. Once again, I apologize if that came off any other way other than the way it was intended…which was harmlessly.

No problem and apology accepted though not necessary.

As stated above, I will disclose the content of the information to Kyle, and I trust him to do what he thinks is appropriate sanction, if any, for my previous post. He might think it is simply BS and ban me. He and I certainly do not agree on everything, I assure you.

If he was an "innocent bystander" as you state,

why would this be harmful to any team he is associated with? Just sayin’
What is your definition of “strong information”?? Just never heard of strong information before, how can information be strong? Just trying to wrap my head around this term, and the reason for this post……….

Good point

I was an innocent bystander to an armed robbery of a convienence store. I do not expect that to ever prevent me from accomplishing anything I attempt. So the question remains, why even bring it up? Maybe because he is not Sly Croom?

Bystander

The aspersion has been cast, nothing else matters.

"Reliable source" would likely be the media term. My opinion of the source is

“unimpeachable”. Subject came up months ago__long before the current interest. Just don’t want UGA to make a mistake__is the reason for the post. Perhaps I should have communicated directly to Richt, but I don’t really have access to him.

Fear not

No one here is in any danger of being banned, or even warned.

Jujdog, I’ll try to get in touch with you over the weekend, both about the foregoing and about your correspondence with Coach Russell.
