Georgia is heading to Shreveport
Joe Shad is now reporting on twitter that the Poulan Weedeater Sanford MainStay Investments Petrosun Advocare 100 Independence Bowl has officially selected Georgia and Texas A&M. Kyle has done an excellent job of documenting the series history between the Bulldogs and the Aggies, and I have to say that I am looking forward to meeting the Texans far more than I would have to meeting the Cyclones from the state of Iowa.
No one is going to be happy about heading to beautiful northwest Louisiana 3 days after Christmas, but it would be worse to go there and lose. So, men, prepare for and play the game like it's the national championship game. And fans, get behind the team like they're playing in a game we would normally actually care about.
These are still our Georgia Bulldogs, and we still want to send our seniors out as winners.
Go Dawgs!

Link to purchase tickets
The Athletics Department is selling tickets now at their website. If you’re planning to go, you should definitely purchase tickets through UGA, since we don’t get “credit” for the purchase as Georgia-related otherwise.
Some local flavor on the Aggies
It is generally understood in Texas that if something is FUBAR, then it must be due to Aggie engineering. Governor Rick Perry is an aggie and former yell leader. Their animal mascot is Reville, a collie. They will be fired-up to be in a bowl game, and will fill their seats. They will be representing the pride of the Big 12 vs. SEC and really be geared to putting it to us.
If we don’t play 60 minutes like we did against the wreck, we will be in for another long and embarrassing afternoon…and no CWM to blame.
Run Lindsay Run!
The also are a whole lot close to Shreveport
than Athens is, (approx 250 miles vs approx 675 miles) so I suspect they will fill their seats and then some.
As a side note, several years ago, I went to College Station, TX to see The Charlie Daniels Band. What I didn’t realize at the time, is this was a week long multi-fraternity party held in field in the middle of nowhere in the hottest part of summer. They know how to party in College Station. They ran out of water, but they never ran out of beer. They moved couches to this field (many, many couches) just for the party.
