I really, really, really enjoyed watching Georgia Tech defeat Georgia today.
Having trouble getting your hate on for the Independence Bowl? Here's what SB Nation's Texas A&M blogger had to say a year ago. That ought to get your blood boiling.

their fan base is scarred and their team is nervous -
we have a better program and better athletes. CMR has the opportunity to call, or very involved, in every aspect of the game. His time to shine.

Our team has not sounded nervous to me. I know our fanbase. Is not scared. I am not scared. I expect us to lose the game, maybe badly. Y’all just have more and bigger athletes. Our only hope is that you QB struggles and keeps us in the game and ur defense cannot adjust without their coaches. I think our OL will struggle to block you DEs and we will struggle to contain your running game. None of this males me scared however. After watching my team give up 60 points twice to mediocre teams this year, not a lot is going to phase me. Just hoping for a good game. Our freshmen got an extra month of practice and they will get to face some great athletes and see where they need to be.

Since our defense couldn't adjust with their coaches,
we’re hoping they can adjust without them.

Since our quarterback made a living out of keeping the other team in the game this year, and since our defense couldn’t make adjustments with their coaches, I’d say that you have a pretty solid set of hopes on which to stake your team’s chances.
Personally, I think that Georgia loses by double digits.

honestly ...
I thought tankertoad meant “scarred” and that it was not a typo — as in emotionally scarred by the season (for whatever reason — for us, it’s for having the kind of season that puts us in Shreveport for a bowl). But you’re probably right.
Thank you NCT for the benefit of doubt....but
I meant scared. I am doing most of my blogging on my phone and although the flexibility and timeliness is grand, the ability to edit and/or catch mistakes is horrible. But I like what you wrote….
I was actually trying to do a little smack talk to get the Aggies to open up over here, but it didnt happen so much. I will say when I told my long time flying buddy and Aggie UGA was going to play A & M his first words were “I hoped we would play somebody easier.” So I do think the Aggies have some trepidation.

if Georgia ran the flexbone
I wouldn’t care who won that game.
I root for Gorgia Tech because I like what Paul Johnson does with his offense, and I want to see him do well.
i like what Paul Johnson is doing as well. Hope it continues.

Tankertoad -
Hope you’re already home for the holidays, it’s going to get real real ugly here tomorrow.

i am in wichita as it turns out - the game overroad going home.
and i need to test out the new 4×4 anyhow. I am somewhat happy i didnt go home, because I would either be stuck here not going or stuck in the ATL trying to get back and miss the game. my sortie actually cancelled today for the blizzard. Let the weekend begin!

I have entirely too much to do
to have to deal with the amount of $n0w they are forecasting (no I will not actually type that four letter word.)

10-2 season with a loss to UGA wasn't so bad
If Tech isn’t going to lose every game they play (and, alas, that’s probably not going to happen again for a while), then I reckon it’d be ok if they won them all but the one against us.
Yeah, I knew it was nothing personal, Beergut . . .
. . . but, because of the lukewarm attitude towards this bowl (no one’s excited to be there and we have no dislike for the Aggies or their fans), I wanted to try to fire up the troops a little.
I understand that you like the offense and I certainly can understand why you respect Paul Johnson as a coach, but, if you had to deal with those people, trust me when I tell you that you’d know deriving enjoyment from a Georgia Tech victory (especially over Georgia, but, really, over anyone) constitutes fightin’ words in these parts . . . and I think you know how seriously I take my football. :)
In all seriousness, Beergut, it ought to be a good game on Monday. I hope you and yours have a merry Christmas.
