Not Good
The college football world is enjoying a hearty laugh at our expense. It's big news that Georgia has failed to hire a defensive coordinator. These are not the sorts of headlines we want our program to be making.
We either need to drain the water from Dick Bumpas's swimming pool and fill it with cash or go pluck the next Brian VanGorder from obscurity, but we need to get this deal done.

Georgia had been linked to Foster for half a day before it came out he was staying at VT. No need for panic. Save that for a disappointing announcement.
i am not stressing it - yet
i didnt expect an announcement until the first week of Jan regardless. These things take time. Lots of people to contact, feel out, get interviews (at least by VTC) and shell out an initial contract agreement. these things take some time – it hasnt been that long. If florida snags someone awesome and makes an announcement, that would get my attention, but until then, not worried. everyone here is on edge – it took two years to fire CWM – can we take a few weeks to hire a new guy?

In all seriousness, it’s just been such a frustratingly long process getting rid of CWM, that maybe we had hoped CMR would have someone already picked out and ready to sign by the time the firings happened.

it hasnt been that long to hire anybody - much less a DC
and I dont think CMR was looking to fire CWM until the last game or so. give it two weeks.

Anticipation is a killer. This is not quite as bad as the last few months before football season starts. I’m not starting to twitch or anything, but it is no fun to wait.

Let me rephrase that for you
This is not quite as bad as the last few months before every waking moment from the end of one football season starts to the beginning of the next.
There are two seasons in the south… college football season, and waiting for college football season.
This is in contrast to places like Chicago, who Lewis Grizzard once joked also had two seasons: Winter… and Fourth of July. (Having lived in Chicago, I can vouch that such an observation is not far off from the truth.)
Except for Florida, of course, where it’s sunny and warm(er) all year ’round.
I hate Florida.
