But Gary Stokan, president of the Chick-fil-A bowl, said Tuesday night that his bowl has no "clear-cut favorite" from the SEC and hasn't extended an invitation to a team. He said Georgia is still in the mix.
"In the bowl business, you hear a lot of things this time of year," Stokan said. "Until official invitations are given and official invitations are accepted, there's nothing in concrete."
Stokan said among reasons Tennessee would be attractive is that it played Alabama and Florida close, won three of its last four and has an excited fan base with a new coach in Lane Kiffin. He said Georgia's pluses include playing a rugged schedule including a win over No. 7 Georgia Tech.

Don't forget the lessons of this season so quickly.
The Georgia Tech game notwithstanding, this season has taught us to never keep hope alive. Always expect the worst, and you can only be proven correct or pleasantly surprised.
It might be a downer, but I’m tired of being depressed and disappointed after events surrounding this team unfold.

i dont care who we play
it would not surprise me for our opponent to come out of the tunnel and go 80 yards on us. we havent stopped that one time, why expect different on Dec 28?

Thanks, vineyarddawg
For a minute there, I actually allowed myself to feel good about something. Thanks for talking me through it. I don’t know what came over me.
Fear not . . . I don’t care who we play, I’m picking that team to win, probably by a lot.

In a later, less publicized event
Stated that another reason Tennessee is appealing is:
“Lane Kiffin is guaranteed to say some dumbass thing during bowl week that will get the bowl mentioned 100+ times on ESPN. If he somehow manages to keep his tongue in check, at least he’ll have the good sense to have a player rob the BP on Spring Street with a paintball gun the night before the game.”
I guess Lane was right about the all press is good press thing.

The Atlanta Sports Council
is beholden to businesses in the metro area. Inviting Georgia doesn’t sell hotel rooms. That has to factor into the equation. They’re going to sell the game out regardless.
I'll take the Music City Loser Bowl over anything at Legion Field--free pizza included...

Actually...
…it is not nearly as much as most major bowls. I believe almost none of its funding is from the city, unlike most major bowls. The Chik-Fil-A Bowl Bowl is able to do a much better job of putting the two best teams together, than most (based on where they pick). That is the reason why there has been a team from Georgia (UGA/GT) two of the last three years. Also, selling hotel rooms in Atlanta on New Year’s Eve, not really a difficult thing to do, with or without the Chik-Fil-A Bowl.

Our bowl slot......
hangs on the results of the ACCC – that kind of sucks – having GT dictate our fate.

Not any more.....
If GT wins they go to Orange bowl-if they lose they may wind up in Peach-fil-a bowl against Tennerssee.
If Climpson wins they go to Orange bowl-if they lose looks like the Champs Sports bowl/Music City bowl against Northwestern/Kentucky.
