again, we need a czar of discipline
CMR said “we have / are trying everything”.
No, not really. A full year suspension. Yank some scholarships. I dont care who it is, take the next 2 or 3 guys and set an example. Get the AD to have someone who can do nothing but look at this crap….as the coaching stafff is too busy.

I just remind myself that we aren’t UT which apparently means Thug U……and for that, I am grateful.
It's also worth noting . . .
that we have a University-mandated alcohol policy that ensures that an alcohol-related arrest equals a suspension from competition. No exceptions. I don’t know that there’s another school in the SEC who has that.
Of course, if every one of my collegiate coevals who wandered the streets intoxicated had been suspended from intramural competition, the BSU flag football team would have won in a forfeit. Four years running. So like podunkdawg, my outrage knows some pretty concrete limits, which were erected on a firm foundation of experience.

i am completely aware that kids drink in college. I dont mean anything hypocritical here. But the football team is going to be watched in everything they do.
I think there is a tie in between the lack of discipline on and off the field. I would like it to go on pause for a while. Like, all of 2010.

We can easily afford to give her an office and one assitant, and let her run head of all things bad for the athletic department. She loves UGA, but would be very unbiased across all the sports. We can end some of this stuff. She also would be GREAT as a liason to the police department, which I think is very much needed.
How much did she get paid before anyhow? i bet we can come close to that.

Harrick excepted of course.
That said, Yoculan is the one truly badass coach I can remember. She is the closest thing to a ninja assassin. You doesn’t take crap from anybody and she loves to chew people up and spit them out.
She is also quite a lovely lady in person but she doesn’t play games. She comes to win always no matter what the pursuit.
I know its a pipe dream but she would be a great addition.

i dont have the exact quote from CMR, but it was something like
“We dont have time to track all these things down…….people need to know we are trying everything we can.” And I dont doubt that. They are pretty busy looking at Xs and Os. And if his quote is true, a Czar of Discipline for the AD sounds even better. ANd it’s not just football, our basketball team tries really hard to get in trouble too at times.

Why does everyone in charge of something have to be labeled a Czar?
You know, the words czar/tsar and kaiser have the same root word… Caesar. And how have they fared throughout history? Caesar was murdered, the czars in Russia were murdered. And the Kaiser? Forced to abdicate at the end of that little skirmish he kicked off in 1914.
Why don’t we just call Coach Yoculan that person the assistant athletic director in charge of making sure people have valid, unexpired driver’s licenses and no outstanding moving violations discipline.

Good grief. Times have surely changed.
Back in the mid-60’s, anyone who walked into the basement at Allen’s on Prince Avenue and put a dollar on the dumb waiter would get a pitcher of beer, no questions asked. I was barely 17 (and barely dressed, but that’s another song). Running the stadium steps is enough punishment for ONE beer, for crying out loud.
