which bowl>
For Georgia right now, the bowl outcome is a complete toss up. They can go to either Independence, Chik fil a, Papa Johns.com, Music City, Liberty, or maybe but doubtfully the Outback Bowl. There are many teams in the SEC that have very similar or have the exact same record as Georgia. With major victories over South Carolina, Auburn, and Arkansas, who all have a similar record. Georgia is probably placed above them, but we will see what happens next Sunday evening on Fox sports.

I'd like to see the Peach-fil-A Bowl
Cause I haven’t missed a bowl game in 4 years and it would be more economically feasible for me to attend.
Plus, who wouldn’t like to see us put it to another ACC team.

I think it's pretty simple from here, actually.
It depends on the outcome of the ACC Championship Game.
If Georgia Tech wins, Clemson goes to the Peach-Fil-A Bowl to face Georgia.
If Clemson wins, Georgia Tech goes to the Peach-Fil-A Bowl, and Georgia drops to the Music City, where they will face whoever passes for the 5th pick from the SEC (North Carolina, BC, or FSU, most likely). The Dawgs will not be doing anywhere worse than Nashville.

You don’t think the Peach would take VaTech at that point? Clemson would be rockin’ 5 losses if they lose the ACC Championship game…

You mean, like Georgia?
Clemson would be the loser of the ACC Championship Game, and there has been a big dust-up recently because recent ACC Championship Game losers have fallen a long way in bowl destination. So, there will be significant political pressure for the Peach-Fil-A to take the loser of the ACC Championship Game. Also, there is the upside that both Clemson and Tech would sell a lot of tickets to that particular bowl… and that’s what bowl games really care about.
So, ultimately, yes, I think it will either be Clemson vs. UGA or Ga. Tech vs. South Carolina, Kentucky, or Arkansas.

can we play tech again and beat them again? that would rock!

I think the Peach has the #2 ACC pick though, and a 5 loss Clemson team (with two straight losses to end the year) wouldn’t be as appealing as a 9-3 Virginia Tech team, IMO.
I also think Virgina Tech would sell plenty of tickets to that game, so that wouldn’t be much of an issue.
I’d love to play Clemson, though.

That's the real question to me
You’re obviously right about records, but I wonder whether VPI would buy that many tickets. In these economic times, it’s a long way from the Old Dominion to the Peach State, and I’m sure there aren’t as many Hokie fans in the Atlanta area as there are Tiger fans. Besides, Virginia Tech has already played in the Georgia Dome once this year (to open the season against Alabama); how many of their fans are anxious to pay a return visit less than four months later?
Go 'Dawgs!
This is a great point that I hadn’t taken into consideration.
Can’t see the VA Tech faithful getting too stoked to come down to ATL for a third time this season.

I Truly Hope...
that it’ll be Clemson! It just makes me sick that we have tossed this old rivalry away in order to play Mid Tenn-likes with this extra regular season game (12th). Clemson has a good team this year, and will pack the dome just like we will. Only problem I see is, the Peach Bowl (yes, it will always be that) will want someone other than us for the sake of hotel rooms. If Aubie, Ar-Kansas, or even the chickens are chosen for the Peach, then there’s a greater chance they will sell 10,000-20,000 hotel rooms in the Atl area. We will see though. I’m really wanting a match-up with the the Auburn, South Carolina Campus felines.
Wait a minute
We aren’t playing MTSU with that 12th game. We’ve always had at least one of those and I don’t see any reason why we shouldn’t continue that (particularly next year where we play Idaho State as a virtual bye week between Florida and Auburn).
We’ve played Clemson, Arizona State, Colorado and Oklahoma State with that 12th game. We have Oregon, Clemson and Louisville on the radar with it.

I Know...
fisheriesdawg, we aren’t playing MTSU with every 12th game…it just seems so because I want the tiggers back on the schedule so badly. I’m from SC and have to listen to their fans day in and day out. They think they could beat us easily because we routinely struggle against the chickens, and they routinely slam them. Not to mention the CONSTANT whining about how our conference being better than theirs is nothing but a myth. It’s a constant headache hearing the Clemson fans poor-mouth about how they’re “entitled” to their 1980’s dominance, and on the stool next to me having to hear Carolina fans talk so adamantly about how there is no way they could NOT win the SEC this or that year, and how they are in contention for the National Championship every year. Let’s not even get into basketball conversations!!!
We’re 41-17-4 against Clemson all-time, dude. They aren’t even close.
Quote that record next time a Tiger fan starts running his mouth at you.

True, but . . .
. . . most of those wins came before the Country Gentlemen upended the Bulldogs between the hedges in 1977, marking a sea change in the rivalry. Between 1977 and 1987, there was no more competitive, hotly-contested, or significant rivalry in college football than the battles between Vince Dooley’s Georgia squads and Charley Pell’s/Danny Ford’s Clemson clubs.
Go 'Dawgs!
I Do...
…quote that record. Quite often actually. You know what I always get??? David Treadwell in ‘86 and Jackson getting sacked for a safety in ’87. Hell, I used to have a competition with a buddy at 7:30pm local time in Afghanistan when GameDay came on to see how many times the Dawgs were in the opening clip as opposed to the tiggers. Thankfully it was usually 7-3 during the intro.
It’s all insignificant though. The reality of it is more than just ticket sales and bragging rights with an old, formidable rival. It’s to keep more of a foothold in recruiting in the southeast. Just one less school to have to mark our territory around if we can denounce their legitimacy to recruits Dabo may seek to swipe.
Besides, I still like reminding folks that, “if your blood runneth orange…you must be sick!”
