Unfortunately for UGA, they just couldn't piece them all together in the right way to maximize the talent at hand. I don't know enough about the internals of the program to list out the causes for sure, but usually that's a sign of bad coaching. Whatever the staff there had been doing for success earlier this decade has gone stale. It's a Sunday-through-Friday problem that's plaguing Georgia, and dressing up like Southern Miss for a day wasn't going to solve it.

Jim Rome has a "take"....
“…nothing screams desperation more than a uniform change…” was the kindest of a 5 minute rant. Ouch.
Run Lindsay Run!
I hate Jim Rome...
more than any functioning organism on the planet. I swear I seriously have thought about going out to SoCal and beating that smug look right off his midget face. I wish he would do a remote from Atlanta some time. What a piece of garbage.
That was indeed a well phrased post from a Fla fan.
“Maximize the talent” is any coach’s job, and when the talent is down, as it is this year, that task is difficult. My point all along is that Donnan could get better talent, but couldn’t maximize it. I think Paul Johnson is the absolute best at maximizing talent today. Erk Russell was the absolute best of all time__Dooley put the talent on offense, particularly the line, and left Erk the 190 lb defensive ends. But they would run through a concrete wall for him or die trying. That’s what is missing today.
Speaking of Erk
Buck Belue was showing him lots of love during the afternoon drive today on 680 The Fan – he talked about how ridiculous it was that Erk wasn’t in the coaching HOF. I know Kyle has been leading this charge for a while – and he is absolutely right on this one.
Belue then spoke about the Spikes thing stating that lots of that type of stuff happens, but the worst is when a guy “grabs your nuggets under there.” Very funny statement.
Yeah that's no fun . . .
nor is the under the pile facemask twist. A high school teammate of mine was also a fine practitioner of the hand bite. It resulted in many inexplicable fumbles that were discovered only after the pile had been sorted out. There aren’t a lot of guys out there willing to literally bite the ball out of the hands of a prone ball carrier. That’s dedication.
