Brandon Spikes will lose a whole half of playing time.

Way to hand down the discipline there, Corch Meyers.

From Tebow;

In the Orlando Sentinel;
Said Tebow of the incident: “We didn’t do anything that they didn’t do.”
I guess Tebow is an Old Testament “Eye for an eye” guy, pun clearly intended.
Also, don’t you think the Conference should take responsibility for a player suspension? Coaches either over react (Oregon) or under react (Meyer). When was the last time a player was suspended fairly by a coach? Ever?

Show me some video

The game was televised. If Tim Tebow says a Georgia player deliberately pulled something like what we all saw Brandon Spikes doing, YouTube it and post it here.

Mark Richt suspends players fairly all the time, and, when he doesn’t, I criticize him for it . . . as I did just last week. Spikes is Junior Rosecrans-level dirty and he ought not to be allowed on a football field.

There is this on youtube...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnPj3aeAzZU

I have read many gator comments stating that Spikes was only retaliating to what is shown in this video. It CLEARLY shows Chapas intentionally ripping off Spikes’ helmet (partially unbuckled helmet, I might add) and then he CLEARLY goes for Spikes’ eyes.

I have watched it several times – pausing and playing repeatedly to see what happened. Now Spikes does have his back to the camera and perhaps my vision is clouded by my red and black colored glasses, but I’m just not able to see through the nearly invisible Spikes to see Chapas reaching with his right hand to get Spikes in the eyes. I reckon its just me though.

Why didn’t Spikes retaliate against Chapas? Why did retaliate against a guy defenselessly trapped at the bottom of a pile? That’s the act of guy that deep down inside knows he’s just dirty chickenshit.

I didn't see anything on that play either

other than the fact that Spikes needs to use both his chinstrap buckles. I plan to watch the game again tonight, as I have been told that both teams were playing quite dirty for much of the game – especially in the trenches. I’ll let you know what I find.

Really Timmy???

Is that would Jesus would say? He wouldn’t have openly condemned it but would have justified it instead?

Seems to me that Saint Timmy is a d-bag AND a hypocrite.

All will be forgiven by the Tebowchild

Spikes should be suspended for the rest of the season for that garbage. I cannot believe Meyer let him off that easy.

Has the Georgia RB commented?

Would think the league would interview him to get his point of view…

He said nothing of the incident in his post game comments. Beyond that, I haven’t heard anything.

Good thing Spikes didn’t do anything serious like go work out with Deion Sanders over the Summer, than he might be out for the year.

Spike has to be 30 years old__did you check out that

receding hairline? Or else on steroids__which causes hair loss. I’d like to see his birth certificate.

No need to see his birth certificate

The Hawai’ian government has vouched for its authenticity.

Once again, we must pause and thank the Southeastern Conference

Nice message you’re sending to the rest of the college football world, Mr. Slive.

Mike Wilbon said it best earlier…the Conference has been protecting teh Gatuh for years now.

I hate Florida.
