Tenn Tech vindication for Martinez?
I posted a few weeks ago. I spoke about having to endure another year of the Willie Martinez defensive freak show. Well, I did not post anything else since then because I wanted to make sure that enough time was given to my original point. Since my earlier post Coach Richt has become defensive, his latest commets reminded me of Jim Donnan. When the fans voice their displeasure he responded that we did not understand football. Joe Cox even said that people who voice displeasure against him would be like him trying to tell a doctor what is right or wrong. Well Joe, I dont need a harvard graduate to tell me if a quack is a quack. I am not upset at all with Joe this year, he is playing like a 1st year QB with great potential, but he only has a few games left and we must begin again with a new QB. He does deserve to play, but when he is struggling we need to move on to Murray in order to build for the future. I enjoyed the game against Tenn Tech because we saw some other great Freshmen who will be in the mix next year, and I enjoyed watching Joe have a great game. Now to the reason for my post today.
Willie Martinez. The shut down of Tenn Tech does not earn him or any of the other defensive coaches any points with me. Coach Richt stated that this is the same defense put into place during Van Gorders tenure. Well that may just be the problem, we must adjust, change, and invent new schemes to defend against the high powered offenses that are out there now. Keep in mind Tenn was struggling on offense before playing Georgia. They exploded and their middle of the road QB looked like a Hiesman canidate. We were unable to stop a single attack offense of Florida. Everyone else who played them made it close, we did not. Auburn will be another test. They are struggling on offense, will they explode against us? Kentucky is not that bad, will they? And Georgia Tech will option us to death, just like they did last year. Can we adjust this year? These are the games that will determine Coach Martinez future at UGA.
Coach Richt, you are an AWESOME coach, I know he is your friend, but so are we. Time to make the change.

Auburn is "struggling on offense"?
We are ranked #12 in the country in total yards per game. If you mean recently we’ve been struggling on offense, while I will grant that we hit a two game rut against Kentucky and Louisiana State, we scored more points on Mississippi than any other team this year and had over 400 yards against Furman (I know it’s only Furman) in the first half. We may not be the gangbusters we appeared to be in the first five games of the season, but the offense is the least of our worries going into this game.
And, in a related story, this week marked the 5,000th performance of the Broadway musical "Cats." It also marked the 5,000th time a guy turned to his wife and said, "What the hell is this?"
The over on this game is, I think, 56 1/2 points. That hardly
indicates that either team is struggling on offense__it does, however, point out that neither team is regarded as having squat for a defense.
