Penn is in Auburn

And Mark Curles is suspended so hopefully that means a evenly called game.

This just in . . .

Iowa’s undefeated football team gets an SEC-ish call on a replay, overturning an Indiana td that would have put the Hoosiers up by 2 TD’s late in the third. Indiana then remembers that it is Indiana and misses the resulting 20 yard field goal attempt. Big 10 football: like watching two wombats fight to the death with egg beaters!

Tebow is creepy

When I was Tebow’s age, I was mixing drinks, trying to score chicks, and generally be cool.

He is in the Phillipines cutting the tallywhackers off of dark skinned Melanesians.

There is really something fundamentally wrong with this.

A victory over Creepy is a Victory For America.

Tebow is different but he's not creepy

I know doing anything else but trying to score chicks and get wasted sounds foriegn to some people, but hate Tebow because he’s a Gator, not because he can go through college without acting immature.

Thanks for the love

I lived in Philly for two years and all my friends there were Penn Staters. Despite my hate for the Big 10, I loved me some Penn State, my adopted second team (as all my friends there adopted the Daegs as their team as well). Your wishes for the best are much appreciated around here. Cheers

GA is my “other” favorite college team. I got to go to some games in Athens when I lived in Atlanta. Always a good time! GA fans were always fun and respectful, unlike Gator fans, who would look and you and say “Penn State Sucks, JoePa is old”, Not much for originality, those Gators

btw, I had to turn the Iowa game off. Officiating is shameful

Cause the whole reason to do this, is to pump up the crowd get them into it, and maybe even the gators will get distracted by it. But its all about how you play, not what you wear. The only reason we roll our eyes at stuff like this is because we lost so badly in the past. But if we win we love it. We loved it when we beat AU and Hawaii, but one loss and we all of assuden are afraid of it.

I have now turned down the sound

I got sick of it after Gary Danielson’s determination from the booth that Tim Tebow told Prince Miller “nice tackle,” and his reference to Tebow and “Georgia’s defensive captain.” Does the kid have a name? Does CBS have a media guide?

The officiating is horrendous. Where was the flag for holding on the long screen pass that picked up the Florida first down? Since when is a tackle that begins in bounds and ends out of bounds a penalty? What was with the penalty on the clearly uncatchable ball?

Our defense looks awful, but the refs are giving this one to them. It’s ridiculous.

He set a North Carolina record with 66 TD passes while taking his team to its fifth consecutive state championship his senior year. Cox was named the MVP of the state title game two times. As a junior, Cox threw for nearly 4,000 yards and over 40 touchdowns. As a senior, he completed 240 out of 363 passes for over 4,500 yards and only five interceptions.

Then I knew it we would lose. We never do good when people think we have a chance.

At least I get another break from the dawgs next week. I refuse to pay to watch CWM run a crappy game plan that allows a D-II team to gain over 200yrds on us.

I also refuse to watch Cox pad terrible stats on a crappy D, so that CMR will feel better letting him lead the dawgs to another lose vs Kentucky. Then pulling him for the last 2 games so that we not only have to play against CWM crappy D plan, but also the fact that Bobo has a QB with no experience and no run game.

by Madasshatter on Oct 31, 2009 7:32 PM EDT up reply actions

I used to doubt Rennie would leave early

I now think that he may go. Why stay and have to deal with either a new DC or WM crappy play calling that leaves you all alone out there trying to make every play.

So we will most likely have this sweet D issues next year:

1) No DTs—-all semi-productive ones are Seniors
2)One DE—Houston is good, but who else will we have
3)Crappy Linebackers—this goes to terrible if Curran leaves.
4)Rambo and ?? at safety—yea thats right…who the hell else have they subbed at Saftey all year…oh NO FREAKIN ONE
5)Smith at CB with little exp—-thx WM for being a retard and not giving Smith playtime.
6)Either CWM or a new DC—-WM sucks and a new DC will not have the players for any good D…Lets look at this:

3-3-5——Req. 2 good DEs and a solid Nose tackle…then 3 avg or better LBs…and the coverage can drop off a little since you have more DBs, but we only have 2/5 experienced players for those 5.

4-3—-Well…we have crappy LBS if Curran goes…no DTs…and a shortage of DEs…

3-4—-See crappy LBs not named Curran

Bear—-Not enough LBs and D-linemen to make this happen.

So next year we will get ownt on D again…Hopefully we will have a new DC that can start recruiting players to his liking and hopefully the new DC runs a 3-3-5. Thats the one we have the best players for.

Also if Curran goes we have no D leadership…I mean Boykin or Rambo would be best…Maybe Rambo would be better since he was on the bench with most of the players that will be playing next year. God forbid we sit a senior for more then 2-3 plays to rest.

Okay

anyone want to defend Martinez and Bobo now? Just one more pathtic outing on offense and defense. It’s getting to the point where it’s pathetic and it’s only going to get worse with Auburn and GT on the horizon.

Richt made a comment about how FSU was one of the most penalized teams in college footbal while he was there. Well, that sure seems to have followed him this year. How many drives were killed by penalties today? This has to stop and it has to start with the coach making changes.

by mwalex on Oct 31, 2009 9:11 PM EDT reply actions

Worst. JAX. Experience. Ever.

And that’s saying something for me.

After being convinced that Georgia would come into this game fired up and ready to play a weary Gator team, what I got was:
1. An obnoxious 4 rows of Gator fans in front of me.
2. An obnoxious 2 rows of Gator fans behind me.
3. An obnoxious Gator fan dressed in a Percy Harvin Minnesota Vikings jersey sitting across the aisle from me.

… and I was sitting in the Georgia half of the stands.

I knew that if the Bulldogs fell behind, we would be in trouble, since Florida is a team that plays well from ahead, and doesn’t do as well when trailing. When UGA fell behind 7-0 and failed to answer on the next drive, I knew we were in trouble.

When UGA fell behind 14-0, I knew we were in more trouble.
When UGA fell behind 24-10, I knew the game was over.
When my mother physically threatened the obnoxious Gator fans sitting in front of us at halftime, I knew it was time to leave.

It’s the earliest I have ever left a Georgia game… but that’s preferable to bailing your mother out of the Duval County Jail.

I hate Florida.

by vineyarddawg on Oct 31, 2009 9:59 PM EDT reply actions

Oh, and I hated the unis the moment I saw them, too.

Maybe our poor performance is partially my fault for sending so much negative vibe the Georgia players’ way, but I actually cursed out loud when I saw the black helmets with black pants.

It’s an abomination, and hopefully we’ll never see it again. Georgia’s classic red helmet with black G is an icon, has been unchanged for decades, and shouldn’t be screwed with again.

Can't agree more

Our man T. Kyle King is obviously a die-hard Georgia fan. I don’t think I can recall a newspaper or blog article that has so fully, eloquently and passionately describe how many Dawg fans feel.

We all realize the human elements of replacing a coordinator whose family has become rooted in Athens. However, in football, as in business and as in life, the needs of the masses should, without question, outweigh the wants of the few.

Martinez is hopefully looking for new opportunities within football—elsewhere. He can have success, regroup and make a stab at another big job down the road. He’s young enough that this doesn’t have to be the end of the road for him.

We know Richt doesn’t want to release Martinez. At season’s end, it may be a situation where Evans agrees to be the “bad guy” and make the decision for Richt, sparing him the pain of axing his friend. That way we all win. I doubt Evans would really dread performing that task. He realizes, as Richt should, that Georgia football HAS to appease the fan base. It’s paramount to successful fundraising and support in the future. Nothing should get in the way of putting the best team on the field and giving them the best opportunity (via coaching) to be successful.
