New SEC Power Poll released
Georgia is ranked seventh. Tennessee, which has the same number of losses as Georgia and obliterated the Bulldogs on the field, is ranked eighth.
I'm a Red and Black homer who has no faith in the Vols whatsoever, and even I know that there is no possible way to justify this.

Wow
The SEC Power Poll’s placement of Georgia over Tennessee just sucks makes no logical sense.
(Sorry, couldn’t resist.)
Sure you can justify it ....
Just use Tickle-Me-Kiffin’s own style of logic against him. Make unsubstantiated claims and then say you’re garnering attention for your program.
Observe:
“Georgia should be ranked above Tennessee because in the head to head matchup, Lane Kiffin cheated. He paid people off….heck, he even called refs about paying them off while they were meeting with Urban Meyer about being paid off. Monte Kiffin fathered an illegitimate child with the niece of the line judge. Eric Berry slipped Bryan Evans some sleeping pills in his morning omelet.
Don’t agree with what I have to say? That’s okay. I’m just garnering attention for my program."
Voila! Justified…..Lane Kiffin style no less.
Behold, this year's College Gameday Sign:
"Joe Cox -- He circumcises ANGELS!"
Not only did we rank ahead of them
but we were one point from ranking ahead of them by two spots.
Maybe people don’t think we’re really as bad as we played in Knoxville, but I don’t buy it. I don’t buy it when people say that evil acts done by individuals in a mob are caused by the mob. I think sometimes your worst just comes out. (No disrespect intended to UT, who played a fine game).
That was our UGA that lost to UT. Until we own that loss, we won’t get better. Brushing it off is a bad idea.
I Don't Get the Self Loathing
Should we be outraged that two teams Georgia beat are ranked ahead of them? If you look at the full body of work it is obvious that Georgia is not as bad as they played against Tennessee. To review: Georgia has lost to one-loss Oklahoma State (decided in the fourth quarter), one-loss LSU (decided in the final minute) and a very average 3-3 Tennessee team (in a truly ugly performance). They have beaten 5-2 South Carolina, 4-2 Arizona State, 3-3 Arkansas (who is getting way too much respect for that Florida loss, in my opinion) and a bad Vandy team. They aren’t good by any stretch, but they aren’t abysmal.
