The losses to Oklahoma State and LSU were unsettling, but understandable against two of the most highly-touted outfits in the country; survival in the fourth quarter against South Carolina, Arkansas and Arizona State was proof that this team "knew how to win" or something.
Tennessee, however, a lopsided loss to a mediocre, one-dimensional team on the brink of collapse itself after an 0-2 SEC start, was definitive proof that the Bulldogs don't really know how to do anything.

Damon Evans Quote:
"Coach Richt and I have talked just as we do periodically throughout the season. I think his focus right now is on the immediate future, which is the Vanderbilt game and doing everything possible to prepare our team. That’s where it needs to be.
"Beyond that, I have total confidence that Coach Richt will properly evaluate our team, address concerns and prepare the right path that will direct us back into the position we all want to be in — competing for championships."
I suspect that’s all code for “Mark & I talked & agreed it is his responsibility to fix this, even if it mean firing CWM asking for CWM’s resignation. CMR has assured me he WILL fix this.”
interesting Podunkdawg
But I dont think there is anyway to evaluate this quote. i would like to think the AD and the highest paid state employee in Georgia talk more than “periodically”. Really? What a wierd relationship, typical of many major schools.
Without a doubt, right now is the time to focus on the moment and major issues can be addressed in Dec/Jan. However, that doesnt mean we can’t make adjustments right now.
If we play like that against Vanderbilt...
… I’m going to “make adjustments” to my TV by defenestrating it.

I completely agree
that Willie ought to be a big enough man to resign. He should acknowledge that he has put his friend Mark Rich and the team in this place and get out the door. Otherwise, Mark has to fire him. He no longer has a third option. Demoting/reassigning him is out of the question.
What HAS TO happen next is that CMR must hire A PROVEN WINNER at DC and very possibly some other position coaches as well. I hate to sound like a broken record but the staff is stagnant and some of them must go. It is not nor should it be about loyalty. It is and should be about winning.
Let’s put together a staff which can maximize the talent of our team.
GO DAWGS!
when i read Hintons post again
all i can see is “DEAD LAST” repeat, repeat……….and as much as we pile on CWM, dead last in running has to fall at the feet of CMR at some point. The inability to run the ball is because of 8 in the box, and their are 8 in the box because its too easy to play man against Cox, AJ Green being the exception. Our Defense is getting beat by direct snaps and basic draws and simple post patterns. Our Offense is getting beat by 8 in the box man coverage. I dropped my drink during the Tenn game when bobo tried some play action – you cant have play action if you have no run game! It looked pathetic.
This is high school football. If I was Vandy, I would do the exact same thing, and somehow double up AJ. I would make UGA, uh, I dunno, have to come up with some new stuff.
Let's hope we don't ever get down to Vandy....
Cause you know Bobo will pull out his crazy, head-scratching, trick play nonsense trying to save his neck.
I’m ok with being uncreative — at least for this game. You just know Bobo’s saving that flea flicker from the G-Day game (this will end disastrously).
It’s Vandy. Even WE should be able to run it down their throats.
Behold, this year's College Gameday Sign:
"Joe Cox -- He circumcises ANGELS!"
I got 5 bucks on a 1st and 10 bomb in the first quarter.....
because establish the run and having ball/clock control would make too much sense
Quote from CWM
“Obviously when you’re running a lot of play-action passes when you’re defending the run and you’ve got to convert that to pass, we’ve got to do a better job with that,” defensive coordinator Willie Martinez said. “Bottom line is we didn’t make enough plays and I’ve got to do a better job of coaching.”
DUH! Ya think?
ouch
he didnt just sell himself out did he? wow. I mean, damn. thats just horrible. He is supposd to say “I am going to address the problems and burn the midnight oil and get better results” or something. Usually someone gets thrown under the bus, they dont just jump in front of it.
