Saturday morning ramblings...
Rich Brooks is a good coach.
Mississippi's victory over the Gators was no fluke. Their loss to South Carolina was.
Bama let a faster team jump them early and often. Utah implemented the correct gameplan. Losing your best o-lineman was catastrophic, but Bama loved themselves a bit too much anyway ...similar to us in the Sugar Bowl of which we do not speak.
LSU will be back next year. MIssissippi will have something to say about the West.
Auburn will go bowling next year. They have a Don Carter's lanes in Opelika, right?
South Carolina is one more 6-6 year away from a coaching change, Spurrier is in jeopardy of ruining his legacy. Their most experienced defensive athletes are going to the NFL. Year 5 of the Spurrier plan will be interesting.
From top to bottom, Georgia's coaches, except Searles, had their collectively worst performance in the Mark Richt era. Getting this fixed weighs bigger than having Stafford and/or Moreno return. There is much work to be done here. It will get fixed. Starting with discipline.
This 10-3 season will look and feel better by the time we get to the "first pitch."
Our incoming recruiting class is shaping up nicely. It seems we will have no issue at quarterback for years to come. And I believe Joe Cox, with possibly our best o-line yet in front of him, will do well if it's his show to run. Logan Gray will be a nice change-of-pace at QB. No worries.
Kick the ball into the end zone. Every damn time.
Go Sooners.
Happy New Year, everyone.

kicking the hell out of it...
could not agree more. I mean, really…how hard can it be to sign a kicker who can put the ball in the end zone? gimme a break…
as for the rest…right on the money my man.
Blair Walsh
Walsh can put the thing out the back of the end zone, but he isn’t being allowed the opportunity. If you watch him closely on the kickoffs, you’ll notice that he is keep his head down on the follow through, and kicking a low point on the ball. This is evidence that he’s trying give the ball a high trajectory. CMR even came out and said that they want the kickoffs to be along the sideline and to go between the 10 and the goal line.
Sic 'em Dawgs
Actually. . .
Walsh has been green lighted to kick to the end zone at times this year, and he hasn’t consistently been able to do it. It wasn’t just the GSU game where it was green lighted either.
May the wings of liberty never lose a feather
admittedly befuddled
if that is the case, that Walsh is doing this purposefully and on instructions from the coaches, then I say “WTF?” TOO MANY of these calculated risks have gone out of bounds, not “along the sidelines.” There is not much difference in beginning a drive on the 20 or somewhere in between there and the goal line. There is, however, a HUGE difference in giving the opponent the ball on the 40 yard line on a routine basis. IF this is truly the strategy, it is a dumb one and should be abandoned. KICK IT INTO THE END ZONE.
I agree with SG
We do the same thing – we also kick it out of bounds way too often and it drives me insane.
Walsh
is a heck of a kicker. Let’s remember he is a true freshman. I expect greatness from him soon aka Butler.
Top to bottom except for Searels?
Saying Eason had a bad year is insanity.
Bobo had a pretty good year, too.
May the wings of liberty never lose a feather
Perhaps you are correct
…not in me being insane, but my criticism of coach Eason.
However our Red Zone problems concern me still. Bobo can and will do better.
Abolish directional kicking.
AU will make the bowls
but at 6-6…no better. Chizik is putting up smoke and mirrors…he’s still a terrible coach.
When you are an Alabama fan you are expected to hate Auburn, I hate Tennessee because I want to.
