Around SBN: How Not To Criticize Tom Brady For The Patriots' Loss

Looking Forward To Spring...

    A quick word on the tone, after reading the fanblogs and comments:

    I know it seems bad. It is bad. We lost to Alabama, badly. We lost to Florida, apocalyptically. We lost to Georgia Tech, unbelievably and humiliatingly. But.

    On April 11, as the flowers struggle into bloom, as the young pups of our latest top 10 class congregate on the green grass at Sanford Stadium, as the girls in their red and black dresses make their way to the gates, and as the ESPN cameras pan across our lovely campus, we'll feel better.

    Despondence and frustration are the rightful fruits of cringe-worthy year, but let's not forget that optimism is the hard-earned birthright of every fan of the University of Georgia Bulldogs. A century of excellence--a pedigree, if you will--is our inheritance, and Mark Richt is more than equal to the task of making it grow. While not as sweet as winning 'em all, gettin' 'em next year is a delicious satisfaction.

    Go Dawgs!

Well put Wes . . .

I usually dread the G-Day game a bit because it involves a) opportunity for injury and b) an opportunity for me to worry about the units that underperform in the game. But this year might actually have a cleansing effect. If all or a significant number of the following occur, I think I’ll be in a pretty sunny mood:
a) Joe Cox looks sharp;
b) the defense looks aggressive;
c) somebody besides A.J. Green makes some tough catches;
d) one of the young tailbacks seizes the job;
e) any of our defensive ends looks “unblockable”, unstoppable", or “mildly difficult to block on occassion”.
f) Brandon Wood, Kade Weston, Marcus Washington and Ricardo Crawford are actually in pads, as opposed to a combination of slings, crutches and traction devices.
Thanks for sounding an optimistic note. Care to take a stab at the basketball program? I’m fresh out on that front.

My stab at it

Last year we were 4-12 in the SEC and won the SEC Tournament to get an NCAA Tournament (I’m sure that didn’t need to be said).

This year we’re only 0-4 in the SEC.

Yeah, that’s really all I got….
