Freudian slip?
From Chip Towers' post-game writeup on the Capital One Bowl:
Knowshon Moreno had only 62 yards rushing but finished with 1,400 yards for the season and 2,734 for his career. …
So, is Chip's editor simply too busy to be bothered by confusing sentence structure, or is Chip treating this as a foregone conclusion? I'll be back tomorrow with the complete wrapup. Until then . . .
Go 'Dawgs!!!

Maybe just a slightly misleading sentence structure -
I don’t see it as that a definitive statement.

I'll take you up on that RocketDawg
As unlikely as it is, I get the gut feeling that Stafford might come back. We’ll find out in less than two weeks.

After further review
I have always thought Stafford is gone gone gone….but a coworker of mine argued that no QB leaving early was a success in the NFL. Maybe there is one, but we couldn’t think of a single one. Every good QB we could think of – Brady, Breeze, Rivers, Cutler, both Mannings, they all stayed their senior season.
Who are we missing? has there ever been a junior QB that succeeded in the NFL? Didn’t Ryan Leaf leave early? Jamarcus Russell did – I can’t think of too many…

Roethlisberger
He’s the only one that comes to mind for me that left early and had success. Granted, he was a fourth year junior. The track record is that guys that stay for their senior season tend to have more success at the next level.

Good call
I think my co-worker actually did mention hin, but we weren’t sure that he left early.
On top of that, he had a very good rookie season to boot.
