What is there really to say other than . . .
This stinks. Steve Spurrier won't have Chris Smelley to kick around anymore, as the former "Gamecock quarterback of the future" (TM) will be leaving to play baseball. College baseball. Somewhere other than in Columbia.
This leaves Stephen "Don't Call Me Tannyhill" Garcia as the only experienced (sic) quarterback in town. He now inherits the mantle of "Gamecock quarterback of the future" (TM), joining such esteemed company as Corey Jenkins, Syvelle Newton and the guy who played Rusty in National Lampoon's Vegas Vacation.
All of which brings up the reasonable question: If Steve Spurrier is such a wonderful developer of quarterback talent, when is South Carolina going to produce a marginally competent quarterback under his watch?

Watch out for Aramis Hillary
CoCo Hillary’s little brother from my side of the bridge (SC).
CoCo Hillary played/plays at App State, and took part in the Michigan upset two years ago.
Looked up his stats in that game :
4 rec 63 yards 15.8 average
7 kickoff returns 151 yards 21.6 average
Aramis was redshirted this past year from what a Gamecock fan was telling me yesterday. I’d like to see him get a shot.

I heard Smelley was headed to Alabama
At least that is what the Roll Bama roll site is reporting.

Blake Mitchell
I’d argue that he was quite marginal.
