I regret that a few yahoos—-and every fan base has this obnoxious minority—-made the rest of us look bad, but anyone who thinks we’re the worst fans in the S.E.C. wasn’t in Sanford Stadium last night.

The bad fans were gone by halftime. The real fans remained to cheer their team until the very end.

If you want to offer reasonable constructive criticisms of the team, the coaches, and the fans, that is invited and encouraged, but please don’t ever say you’re glad to see Georgia lose. That sentiment simply is not welcome here.

If Mark Richt does any research on Vince Dooley, he’ll find out that Coach Dooley had a significantly worse won-lost record at the same point in his career. I take nothing away from Coach Dooley, but Coach Richt is the best head football coach we’ve ever had, and not by a narrow margin.
