And your reasonable 'Bama prediction
Check out the "Different opinion" heading by mathistodd. 'Bama fans never cease to amaze me with their objective and reasonable thoughts towards the Crimson Tide.

And it never ceases to amaze us...
….that rival fans will latch onto a single comment in a thread full of “we didn’t do as well as the score indicated and have lots of concerns heading into the Georgia game” and turn it into a blanket condemnation oozing with snide condescension like “"Bama fans never cease to amaze me with their objective and reasonable thoughts towards the Crimson Tide.”
Et tu, Todd?
“Rival fans,” plural? You were the first commenter responding to a 25-word FanShot. I agree with you about blanket condemnations, but it’s a two-way street.
Let’s all take it easy. We have a long week ahead of us. Let’s pace ourselves.

I used the plural form...
…because just about every blog covering every other team in the SEC has at least one post or comment about how Alabama fans are idiots/kool aid drinkers/whatever all while using either a single comment taken out of context or the worst possible example as “proof” despite said proof being surrounded by evidence of the contrary. Its annoying and frustrating, especially since we routinely go out of our way to be as objective as possible and by and large have commenters who aren’t buying all the hype, and it’s especially annoying and frustrating when I find it coming from a great blog like this one and a fan base that we generally have cordial relations with.
My apologies
I saw that one comment and just made an obviously snide comment regarding “one” ‘Bama fan’s perspective. Obviously, this is not the opinion of the entire ‘Bama nation. I didn’t intend to step on any toes and upon reflection I too would hate to see one UGA fan’s comments taken out of context as representative of the whole. Lord knows we see enough of that from other fanbases on blogs and message boards. My apologies to you Todd.
Todd . . .
and it’s especially annoying and frustrating when I find it coming from a great blog like this one and a fan base that we generally have cordial relations with.
Thanks for the compliments both to the site and our fanbase, Todd. I take the above comment as proof that you are a sensitive man, equally in touch with your feelings of school pride, and your sneeking suspicion that John Parker Wilson is just waiting for the right moment to go flat like the front left tire on a ’73 Pinto.
Did I say your suspicion? I meant my suspicion. Sorry about that.
In all seriousness everybody, Kyle’s right. Let’s keep this one as civil as possible. At least until Wednesday. After that I’m posting the photoshopped pictures of Saban having tea with bin Laden while they discuss naked shorting the whole S&P 500.
Perhaps until then we can unite as a community of shared ideas. For example, we all hate Auburn. There’s a good starting point . . .
lol
i am a HUGE bama fan and i too hate it when some people are delusional (although at times i am one of those people) , but with all that aside i am supper exited about our upcoming contest considering that UGA is the best competition we have faced this season ! i also think that bama has a good shot at giving you guys a fight to the death whatever the outcome. so i would love to hear how you guys think this game will shake out, any predictions?
Hard to tell
I haven’t delved too deeply into the numbers, so I’m nowhere near making a prediction. I’m glad the game is at home and at night.
We always knew Nick Saban would get the program headed in the right direction; it was just a matter of how long it took him to bring in the talent and (more immediately) alter the mindset. I’m not yet sure whether ‘Bama truly is back or whether the resurgent Tide are a paper tiger elephant; the wins over Clemson and Arkansas were by convincing margins, but I don’t know how good Clemson is and I know Arkansas is awful.
That said, the Crimson Tide run the ball and stop the run, which remain critical to the ability to win in the S.E.C. in 2008 as in 1958. The team that controls the line of scrimmage will win the game and there’s no doubt in my mind that the Tide provide the toughest test of the season so far at the point of attack, on both sides of the ball.
Go 'Dawgs!
the score
The “delusional” part was the prediction of 34-17 Bama.
I certainly think this game is basically a toss up. I would give the edge to Bama on the lines and agree that is usually a good place to start in a win or loss. But if UGA can maintain just enough presence on the lines (time for Stafford to make a few deep throws and enough holes for Knowshon at the right times), I think overall talent favors UGA for the win. I’d say closer to either 34-27 or 17-10. But I’d be surprised if either team blows the other out.
Yes, that is my son. Yes, that is a bottle of Crown.
Freakin Awesome!
How close was that “delusional” score…..
Gotta admit thats pretty damn funny!
