PrintThe ‘Dawgs emerged triumphant from the desert tonight, which brings us to my favorite posting of the week: the updating of the Mark Richt Victory Watch, in which we here at Dawg Sports count down each Georgia win en route to Coach Richt’s inevitable surpassing of Vince Dooley for the all-time school record.
The Mark Richt Victory Watch now stands at 76. Coach Richt needs just 125 victories to tie Coach Dooley.
95 games into his tenure in Athens, Coach Richt boasts an overall record of 76-19. At the same juncture in their own coaching stints with the Red and Black, Harry Mehre (57-34-4), Wally Butts (69-24-2), and Vince Dooley (64-27-4) all lagged behind Mark Richt.
It’s great to be a Georgia Bulldog.
