Football (or a Reasonable Facsimile Thereof) is Here!

It’s almost here. College football season is almost upon us. Can you believe the first game is this Saturday?

You read that correctly . . . this Saturday.

As reader Cookin’ and Smilin’ brought to my attention (a few days ago, in fact . . . I told you I was behind on my e-mail, but I’m working on it, honestly, I am; bear with me), Valdosta State and Fort Valley State will square off at 8:00 p.m. this Saturday, August 23, on the C.B.S. College Sports Network.

Yeah, I know, it’s Division II football, but---speaking as someone who has been known to watch Arena League games (the football equivalent of methadone), World League of American Football/N.F.L. Europe (at least until one of their freaky-deaky metric socialist four-point field goals made my brain hurt), and even (in a pinch) the National Football League---hey, college football is college football.
