Interest in Fantasy Football anyone?
I know this is completely non UGA related but I was wondering how many people here might be interested in being in a NFL fantasy league this fall. If there's a lot of interest I'll create a league and if not, no worries. I just got to thinking about it today and wondered how many people on here like to do fantasy leagues.
Depending on the settings, an ESPN league can have 10 or up to 20 in a customizable league so be wary of that if there is a lot of demand here.
Just shoot a reply to this if you are interested, thanks.

I'm in
It would be kinda cool if we could make a rule that every fantasy team has to have a former bulldog, even just using a Defense that had a Georgia player would work. Hard i know but just wanted to throw a crazy idea out there.
Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win.

If we made that rule...
...could I draft Herschel Walker and play one of his personalities at each position?

I'll play
The UGA player rule seems like a cool twist; I would be concerned that it would complicate strategy a lot, though. Unless complicating it would be a good thing.

Yeah that would be tough
Carolina (Thomas Davis, Charles Johnson) would be the first off the board probably followed by the Patriots (Richard Seymour), and Denver (the Baileys). The Bengals have plummeted big time due to recent developments, some beyond one’s control, others tragic decisions that ruin your life.
In essence the rule sounds cool, but you would be neglecting some big time D’s like the Chargers, Seahawks, Giants, Bears, Packers, etc etc.
Let’s see how much more interest this generates and we’ll go from there. Can I count on each of ya’ll to check this frequently to stay abreast of any details? I would prefer if we could get like around ten people because after that it gets a little ridiculous when it comes to drafting.

Mostly just throwing it out there
just thought it would be cool to think about. Not advocating implementation.
But here are some other thoughts on it anyway…...... You don’t have to have one on your active roster just at least part of your team. Granted you could end up having players on your team that are utterly useless, like D.J. Shockley who will have a hard time making the Falcons squad this year, or maybe if Brandon Coutu is able to win the job on FG duties for the Seahawks. There’s also Reggie Brown who is at least going to contribue for the Eagles. Thomas Brown will get a few carries but at least he could fill a roster spot. Marcus Howard will likely play some DE on the Colts defense so that would count. Ben Watson is a good TE for the Patriots. You could do your research and find some past unknown Dawgs on NFL rosters, both for Defense and servicable skill positions.
The proposition (a half hearted one at that) was just to have one on the roster and show support for the NFL Dawgs. If it gets in the way of competitive Fantasy league play then i say lets not do it. Appreciate your thought on it.

Just to clarify
wasn’t just thinking about only using Defenses but your point is still well made.

i'd be interested
i’ve never posted on this site or any dawg related site but i do enjoy reading what everyone else has to say. i feel that i don’t have the wit or linguistic skill to add anything relevant to the discussions that i read about, but i do love seeing what everyone else is saying. i’ve never done the whole fantasy football thing but would be interested in doing it with georgia fans. anyways, if this comes to pass, i’d really like to be involved. also, since i reside in middle georgia too, i’m always hoping to catch a glimpse of the famous t.kyle king somewhere in downtown maconga.

Any more takers?
Just want to get a feel of what sort of numbers we are gonna have. I would prefer to keep the league to the first eight or so people (after 8 the drafting gets absolutely ridiculous) that have expressed interest.
And please, if you DO want to do this, at least be dedicated to your team THROUGHOUT the season. Believe me, it’s really annoying when someone in your league drafts a bunch of good players and then never makes the time to switch their players to the bench during bye weeks and to make appropriate roster transactions.
