Personally, I don’t want to make any excuses for not playing Hawaii in Hawaii. I think the reasons not to do so are obvious and have nothing to do with being afraid Georgia would lose. I mean, come on. Maybe someone can argue with a straight face that game location was meaningful if Hawaii had come within a touchdown or two, but this, “yeah, we got beat down, but at least we would have had a moral victory from a closer game if it had been somewhere else” argument is just funny.

At first read, I thought that was another parody of the Knowshon essay that you had stumbled upon. I cant believe that was meant to be a rational, coherent argument in a comment thread.
