As anticipated, Athens will host one of the 16 N.C.A.A. Division I baseball tournament regional rounds next weekend. By virtue of hosting a regional, the Diamond Dogs will be participating in the 64-team playoff field.

Conference tournament champion Louisiana State was the only other S.E.C. squad to be selected as a regional host. Other nearby host sites include Conway, S.C. (Coastal Carolina); Tallahassee, Fla. (Florida State); Chapel Hill, N.C. (North Carolina); and Raleigh, N.C. (N.C. State).

The rest of the tournament field, along with the eight national seeds and the first-round pairings, will be announced at 12:30 p.m. Monday on ESPN.
