Ohio State vrs. Georgia in Capital One
UGA has never faced Ohio State. This would be a great matchup, Ohio State is just about as easy to hate as Florida. I cannot stand their coach or their conference, or the way ESPN adores them. Michigan, Penn State, Michigan State, aghhh. Penn State would be a good match, payback for that National Championship thing. Believe me, I was there in New Orleans, payback is well overdue. But keeping the SEC smackdown of Ohio State going would start '09 off on the right foot. I belive that would be 10 in a row and UGA would lead series 1-0. Happy New Year everybody.

We beat them in the Citrus after the 92 season
It was Herbstreit’s last game.
Also featured Robert Smith, Eddie George, Garrison, Terrell, and Mack Strong between the two rosters. Fair amount of backfield talent there.
Right
One of the Buckeyes’ losses in their 0-9 bowl streak against the S.E.C. came against Ray Goff’s best Georgia squad in Orlando.
Incidentally, the ‘Dawgs have not lost to a Big Ten team since 1957. (No, the Sugar Bowl loss to Penn State at the end of the 1982 season doesn’t count. The Nittany Lions were an independent and they were still a little over a decade away from joining a conference.)
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, though. We still have one regular season game to go, and a pretty important one, at that. No one in Bulldog Nation needs to be giving so much as a passing thought to where we might go bowling. Our whole focus needs to be on clean old-fashioned hate.
Go 'Dawgs!
I got no beef with Tressel
good coach, seems like a likable guy.
And my dad picked me up a UGA sweater vest, which I attempted to pimp for the Florida game, but it brought no luck.
But my point is that I like sweater vests on certain occasions…
An addendum
if you’re gonna really dislike any OSU coach, it should be Woody freaking Hayes.
Unfortunately someone in my family is named Woody Hayes strictly by coincidence.
But I don’t care how much tOSU fans try to build this guy up, he was a slimeball.
I would root violently AGAINST...
… Ohio State in this game. UF and Georgia are rivals, but I see it like this. You’re an annoying, bratty, insolent little brother to the Gators… but you’re OUR little brother. It’s a family thing. I’d love to see this matchup and I’d love to see UGA absolutely DESTROY Ohio State.

"Little brother"?
Wow, imagine how annoying, bratty, and insolent you’d find us if y’all had a winning record against us!
In the last 19 years, Florida has gone 16-3 against Georgia. In the previous 19 years, Georgia was 15-4 against Florida. The two teams are roughly .500 against one another over the last four decades, however much the two teams may have alternated periods of dominance over one another. No one in this rivalry gets to think of the other as a “little brother” and anyone who argues differently is betraying an utter ignorance of history.
That aside, I agree with you in principle. I was rooting hard for the Gators against Michigan in last year’s bowl game because I wanted to see the conference do well in the postseason and I certainly didn’t want to hear about it from Big Ten country if Florida lost.
Some of the folks with whom I was watching the game didn’t understand that, but the postgame reaction from the Midwest confirmed that I was right to root as I did.
Go 'Dawgs!
Bowl Games
I root for SEC teams 100% of the time during Bowl season. I also pick almost all SEC teams to win in bowl pick contests and have fared pretty well over the years.
I am also glad to be living in the moment of what could turn out to be a fantastic season for my team, and that I don’t have to recite history lessons and all time records. That is not a dig at Kyle, and Pilot should have simply ommitted “little” from his post to make the point…..but I hear alot of the historic stuff from Alabama fans during football season and Kentucky fans during basketball season.
I think once the regular season is over – we should all put our hatred for one another aside and root for our conference brethren in bowl games so that the SEC will continue to get the benefit of the doubt from the voters.
Agreed . . .
. . . and the “little” part was what was erroneous; if he beat you up regularly when you were kids, he’s not your little brother. If he’s beaten you twice in the last five fights, he’s not your little brother. If most of your wins in the last six or eight years have been by the skin of your teeth, he’s not your little brother. If he’s beaten you more than you’ve beaten him, he’s not your little brother.
Twin brothers who trade periods of dominance? That’s a fair characterization. “Little brother,” though, is just ignorant.
However, I, too, generally root for the S.E.C. in bowl games . . . except for Auburn. I hate Auburn.
Go 'Dawgs!
OHIO STATE
I DON’T THINK COACHES OR T.V. WOULD ALLOW OHIO STATE TO GET THEIR ASS KICKED BY ANOTHER SEC SCHOOL.
