Don't Think Moreno or Stafford will go pro this year.
Stafford and Moreno have had good seasons this year and to look at it they would probably be both top 5 picks. I know when they hear their name being mentioned, all they think about is how good they can really be and maybe the dollar signs flashing in their eyes.If you look at the teams right now in the NFL the number one pick in the draft is GOING to be the Detroit Lions. NOBODY would like to be drafted by them. The Lions organization turns The Talent into Has Beens. Don't even get me started on the players that have come threw there. Also Cincinatti Bengals, That will have to be a topic of another post. Comment on this, tell me what you think

Yes...
I think they won’t go pro either, because they are still feeling unsatisfied. Matthew needs another year to beat the Gaytors and solidify himself with hopefully and SEC championship. Or better. I think Moreno is in for the long haul also.

I think you're wrong
First of all, I hope both Stafford and Moreno stay, as that would be better for the dogs. However, I do not see that happening at all. First of all, this is very likely going to be the last year that rookie salaries and signing bonuses are not going to be severely limited. That means the dollar signs that they see this year would disappear next year, regardless of how good they are next year. Secondly, I don’t think anyone is going to forego the draft because they might get picked first overall, regardless of who the team is they might be joining. In fact, if I were Stafford, I would most certainly go this year. He leads the SEC in yardage, and this years QB class is far and away less talented. There are hardly any good senior quarterbacks. A team like the Lions would be ideal for him, it would be the Matt Ryan situation all over again. Last year, people said “who would want to go to the Falcons?” and now look at it. The fact is, the Lions have playmakers, they just don’t have a quarterback. As we’ve seen, all it takes is smart management and a well-developed plan and programs can very easily be turned around, quickly. I think Stafford is gone…Moreno I’d say 70-30.

I think they go
I don’t think its the right move, especially for Stafford, but I think they both declare. Again, the idea of a rookie salary cap, whether it ends up happening or not, will scare a lot of underclassmen into going. Also, in Stafford’s case, this is a really weak year for quarterbacks. In Knowshon’s case, an extra year for a running back to be productive in the NFL is only a good thing. Now, from what I’ve always heard, Knowshon wants to graduate before going pro. That would entail him sticking around for next season. I just don’t know how much a check with a few extra zeroes at the end of it can change a persons thinking.
Of the two of them, Stafford is the one who really should stay. From a financial perspective, yeah, he should go. But if he is looking for the best way to have a long and successful career, he would be much better served sticking around. Quarterbacks who stay for their senior year have a much better track record in the pros than the ones who leave early. Aside from history, I just don’t get the feeling that he is ready. I know he has all the talent in the world and runs a pro style offense, but everything else about him screams project pick. I just don’t see him being able to take over a team from the get go. As a general rule, I think quarterbacks should take as much time as they can before taking over a team. Odds are, he will end up in a situation where he has to start right away. In that case, an extra year in college would be invaluable. If I were him and I were looking at it that way, staying would be a no brainer. But, again, nobody is waving seventy million dollars in my face.

You are kidding, right?
I have seen some project Stafford as high as first OVERALL. If that is the case, why in the world would he come back?!?! If he is a top 5 pick as most project, he can only hurt his stock by coming back. Also, you can’t factor in the possibility of getting picked by a lousy team, as the worst teams will pick first every year. I agree that Detroit has a big problem at QB – the Falcons are a great example. Joey Harrington shared the same (lack of) success in Atlanta as he did in Detroit and Miami.
Moreno is a different story….I personally think he is NFL ready right now, but assuming Stafford goes, Moreno would get a ton more carries next season and get the chance to showcase his talents while UGA develops a young QB.
We all look for reasons why our talented underclassmen will return, but more often than not – they leave for the NFL…and who can really blame them?!

Moreno will leave
And Joe Cox (RS Senior) will probably end up as our QB if Stafford is gone.

Stafford isn't ready and Moreno isn't a pro style running back
Time will tell, but Stafford is just too slow on reads and misses things, and uses his arm as his brain, the complexity and mixed looks week to week in the Pros will kill him.
And God Bless him – I love Moreno, but I am not sure he has the size/speed for the pro’s. He shucks and jives for 4 yards and we love it, but you do that in the pro’s and there is another defender right there to lay you out. BUT – he maybe trainable in that area.
If Stafford goes, I won’t miss him that much, but I think he can be fabulous next year. If Moreno goes, I wish him well always, he carried this team on this back for two years and gave us a lot to cheer for.
All that being said – $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ – i guess we will see.

Seriously.
If I knew all these people thought they were going to leave, I would’ve started taking bets earlier.
So anyone wanna bet against me that both of them are not leaving? Stakes?

They are both gone...
no way either of them comes back. The only hope of Stafford coming back is that the Mannings talk him into it, otherwise it will be hard to turn down Top 5 pick money.
Moreno on the other hand is a better shot of the two simply because there are a few stronger RB’s coming out this year. He would still be a 1st round pick though.
Whether either or both stay or go I think the ‘09 Dawgs are going to be just fine. Joe Cox is a smart player and has a good arm, throw in some Logan Gray for a change of pace and our QB situation is fine. Caleb King and Richard Samuel will have another year in the weight room to get stronger and both will be fine. Hopefully we can keep our O line healthy next year as well. Our D doesn’t look to be missing much either especially if Owens comes back next year.

Ask Matt Leinart if Stafford should go
If you’re a solid Top 5 pick, you should generally go. It’s all about the guaranteed money in the NFL, and dropping five or six spots can cost somebody milions and millions of dollars. Pro scouts apparently love Stafford, and if you’re No. 1 material, you can really only go down in value.
It kind of reminds me of Troy Williamson when he was at South Carolina. (Granted, there’s more incentive to stay at Georgia, but still … ) All of us were hoping that Williamson would stay around because he’d get a chance to learn more about being a WR from Spurrier and convinced ourselves that it would actually be “better for him” to stick around. In retrospect, even with his modest achievements in the NFL so far, it was probably the better move for him financially.

You need to edit the title of the post
It should read…
Don’t You Think Moreno or Stafford will go pro this year?
And yes, yes i do!
When you are an Alabama fan you have to hate Auburn, I hate Tennessee because i want to.

I don't know for me its a bit of a toss up
The only ups i see for the case of Stafford and Moreno is big rookie money (initially). I say initially because i think another year could help both significantly. If an extra year solidifies them and makes them legitimate NFL players then over the long run they will make plenty of money (esp. Stafford).
If they go after this year i think its merely a desperate move for good money now, instead of interest in becoming legitimate pro players. If they don’t develop as they should and leave early, they may not have the big money making year after year.
The motivations to stay are more numerous, win an SEC championship and take a shot at a NT, both are gone this year. If they had achieved these, i wouldn’t question nor argue with them leaving. But they haven’t and that has to eat at Stafford and Moreno. I think it will bring them back for one more year!
Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win.
