Let's destroy TENN please

Don't really have to say anything else.  We've been flat out embarrassed against Tennessee the last couple years.  Two years ago I felt bipolar watching the game, one second cheering and the next second yelling.  Ugh, it was completely awful.  Last year wasn't as bad since we were just completely manhandled.  No beef with that, but I hated the bipolarness of the game two years ago (and yes, we got destroyed two years ago, too).

I wanna see about 49-0 and I'll be happy.

You should

And UGA will! This game on Saturday will be the perfect storm for UGA. You guys will be pumped and motivated after the loss to Bama AND UT is just terrible. They will probably start a freshman at QB. If you guys play like you did in the 2nd half against Bama, that game will be 100-0 by half time!

So go out there and please “Beat the hell out of UT” !

RTR and go dawgs!

Don't take life to seriously, you'll never get out alive.

All I want to see

Please, pretty please, if we a struggling with the pass rush, DONT DROP THE CORNERS TEN YARDS INTO COVERAGE!!!!

That said, based on the way UT has been looking, I will be disappointed by anything less than a 24 point victory. I know I’m tempting the Football Gods by hoping for such a thing, but I really haven’t seen much of a reason to expect less than a decisive victory.

SG Standard

I agree. For the love of all that is holy, can we please ditch the corners playing 10 yards off the receivers and giving up easy 8 yard completions all day long??? I’d be more okay with getting burned deep then getting tortorously dinked and dunked all the way down the field like Alabama did.

Its like there is an irrational fear of the deep ball

I just wrote out a huge post about our defense, but it is not related to the topic of beating the orange right off the Vols. I like this discussion, and think we should continue it in another fanpost.

If I was confident about our chances...

…I would say Richt and Bobo should set 87 points (51 + 35 + 1) as our target for offensive production this week.

As it is, I’m not going to get too overconfident. The whole “we just lost big so we’ll take it out on a vastly inferior opponent” argument is great except it didn’t apply last year (@ Vandy). And we even had the “they upset us at home last year” thing going for us then. So I wouldn’t be suprised if this one comes down to a late score.

With the injuries we have . . .

. . . and the resulting issues on both lines, we’re not blowing anyone out for a while.

My reason for measured confidence is that we are in exactly the opposite situation from last year. In 2007, the game was in Knoxville and Tennessee had an open date before the game, while we had to play the week before. In 2008, the game is in Athens and Georgia had an open date before the game, while they had to play the week before.

It ain’t going to be 35-14, but I expect us to win by seven to ten points. I don’t expect revenge to be a factor. If giving up 50 points in our own building in 2006 didn’t get us motivated enough to play with more enthusiasm than the ‘Dawgs brought to bear in the first half in Neyland Stadium in 2007, there’s no particular reason why last year’s methodical thrashing ought to get our juices flowing.

Go 'Dawgs!

I feel like...

I agree with this post wholeheartedly, I’ve been saying this to my fellow ‘Dawgs, and it has nothing to do with rankings or attenion. I just feel like this is the only way to get started on our 6 game SEC schedule… Although we didn’t do it last year and we were ok, its just a feeling in my gut that I have… I really want a big win. But it doesn’t matter what we want, it won’t change the final score, so hopefully we just get a W.

I just want...

our guys to go out there and hit them in the mouth like Bama did to us. We did that last year against UF and Auburn and look what happened. If we can just go out and play tough things will take care of themselves score wise.

I would like...

to see our offensive line give Stafford more than 2 seconds against an SEC front before he’s running for his life. If we can do that, watch out for the rest of the year.

All I want...

…For Christmas is a BCSNCG victory over the Big XII champion, for MS and KM to stick around for another year and for Knoxville to get sucked into a giant sinkhole and Gainesville fall off the face of the earth.

Which isn’t really relevant, but I liked the thing we had going with our post subjects.

If I could have my wish,

It would be a 10+ point victory margin, this weekend, an ending to Vandy’s cindarella season next, and save the big blowout for LSU (like in 2004) or UF come on did you guys see that one coming? Anything can happen.
