He seems to have musical ability (unlike myself), but I find his lyrics, well, for a lack of a better word, cheesy.

I know that’s probably just me. I know a lot of people who think he (and that song in particular) is fantastic, but it makes me wish I was somewhere else, rather than with someone who likes his music. Anyway, if you enjoy him – great. But I don’t think it’s a given.
